Ability: Hidden Weapon - The user surprises the foe with a concealed weapon. This increases the damage of the first attacking move it uses on the field by 50%
Info: One of the three spirits of Ovaro mythology that was banished for the threat it posed for the safety of the people. Said to be the spirit of what was once the most beautiful woman in the region, Femaule now hides the majority of its face behind a mask for an unknown, and said to be dark, reason. It conceals blades which it uses to take its opponents by surprise and slash them. It is thought to be the most dangerous of the three spirits, and people are still wary of approaching strangers in traditional clothing at night, for fear that it may be Femaule.

Femaule is based on Kuchisake-onna, a well-known female spirit in Japanese ghost stories. I was inspired by Japanese ghost stories where people would encounter these horrifying spirits on roads at night, and thought this would be a cool sidequest in a Pokemon game.

In-game, after completing the main story, Adoette, a witch who lives in the Maitso Swamp, will claim that the spirit world has been restless. The player will have to gather some items for her from across the region, after which she'll summon the Legendary Spirits back from the spirit world. The player will have to look over the region to find them. Femaule can be found lurking around the Sanero City Park at night.
