I'm curious what the gynoid in this picture is thinking. Does she ask what really counts as human? Does she wonder if is flesh or is a free mind that makes a human? Perhaps she was designed as someone's Galatea- an beautiful statue of a woman that was given life in Greek mythology- but now realizes that she is not a real woman and now desires more? Does she desire to transcend her form as a machine or is she simply curious about what the magazine's cover depicts?

Its usually for the fact to experience emotions. Robots may have technological advantages but they don't have feelings, or very minimal ones.

This is just too...too beautiful. For one, the way she is caressing the magazine cover makes me die inside because I do the same thing when I am thinking, "that is so pretty. Don't worry about it, it is just an ego thing. That stuff doesn't matter, it is just egotistical baggage built up by society making people think it ascribes value to a human being. It doesn't.

this reminds me of one of the Astro City stories. about a robot named Beauty that is one of the city's heroes. but every few years or so, she tracks down who made her so she can be with her parent so she can be just a little like the humans around her, only to have her memory blanked and ordered to leave.
it's a touching and sad story, but worth the read. this image reminds me of that in a lot of ways.
