Description
I promised more photos from my trip to Venice last summer. I finally got to look a bit more into some of them - and chose to start out with a little collection of photos from the awesome island of Burano! This island used to be a small fisherman's society, where they for some reason painted all their houses in all these amazing colors - it's a paradise for a photographer! I could walk around there in several days, just snapping away at least ten times per minute. Unfortunately, I was there with other people (non-photographers I may say!), and I guess it would have been a little evil to them to keep them there for the rest of the holidays!
I simply love this photo, simply because of the Italian woman standing there in her doorway. She fit's so well into all the colors with her clothing - she really belongs there

how lovely to see some photographs featuring Burano. I had never heard of it, but was looking for some Venice shots the other day and came across Burano. I still have to look up where exactly it is, makes me curious. Would love to go there one time *adds to list of places to see* I love the colours and lines in this shot. Also the other one I just faved, with the canal behind, and the flowers in the middle. They make me smile and happy just looking at them. I tried my hand at drawing venice the other day.. haha [link] it's not super, but then I worked to quick and careless. I think I may like to try Burano now too. Would you allow me to try draw either one of your 2 pics I faved, you think?

That drawing you linked to is really great! It really feels the right "Venice" way have you ever been there, or are you just drawing from pictures?
You are of course welcome to draw from my pictures! As long as you link to my photo when you upload it I'll of course link to your drawing from my deviation as well

I forgot, would you maybe consider making Burano 1 and 3 download available? That way I could print it out, and have the photograph in front of me to draw, cause it's not handy sitting in front of the computer to draw, I'm usually in another room. I'm online now, that way you'd see I've got it, and can disable the download again

sorry, it's a policy - I don't let people download the large size but the shown size should be quite big enough to draw after

yes, not a problem, thanks! I hadn't realized when I asked one can save a pic even with download not available. it worked out wonderfully, good enough to draw from Did you see the end result yet?

thanks for replying Bozack.. yay.. I can try to draw Burano thank you so much!
And yes, ofcourse I'd be linking to your photograph, absolutely, that's just the great thing, so people can see what the real thing is.
Yes, I've been to Venice. I'm originally from Holland, lived in France for about a decade.. so visited a few places in Europe. Unfortunately, I had never heard of Burano, else I would've gone for sure! In the south of France there are quite a few places like that, little villages, only not as colourful. But with this atmosphere. I was stunned to find quite a few elderly ladies, who had in fact never gone anywhere. Like the furthest would be to the next town. I once met a 90 year old, who had never ever even been out of her mountain village. Not once. Isnt that something? Anyways, thanks for letting me draw your photograph. I don't know if I can do it but I'd sure like to try. I'll let you know once I've done it, and will show you first, okay? And thanks for your nice comment on the Venice sketch
