These doodles are part of some rough idea that came to me ever since I played Cupman and started painting my first portait (Which I will show you guys later once it's finished. )

It's an idea for a short story which is set in 1930, and it's about a kind-hearted aspiring young painter from France who sails to America to find work. To his surprise, Pierre arrives at this surreal cartoony city where anthropamorphic animals and objects co-exist with human, who also appear quirky. Pierre has two companions, Scampi and Mae. Scampi is this mischevious and streetwise little orphan pup who runs into Pierre shortly after he came off the boat. Mae is a neurotic but beautiful maid who Pierre falls in love ever since her employer hired him to do a painting.

For this short story, I had this idea of drawing Pierre with a Hergé's Tintin character design style, making appear like something out of a children's story book. As for Scampi and Mae, You'll notice they have that were drawn with a classic "Rubber-hose" cartoony style like something out of Cuphead and even older examples like Max Fleischer's Betty Boop, Bimbo and Popeye.
