We can learn a lot from our surroundings at all times, no matter where we are. This includes trees. This tree is obviously not very healthy yet it continues on, and is still quite an elegant tree. Recently someone commented on my gallery that I "must love trees", and they were right I do. You might even say I'm a "treehugger"
Trees are much more advanced in evolutionary terms than any other species on this planet. They are perfect structures of nature, providing beauty and yet they are also extremely efficient in their growth/living. The bristlecone pine tree for example, has nothing in its genetics for death, they can essentialy live forever short of being cut down or uprooted from some sort of disaster. Trees Live Fully, in the moment, and this is something we can learn from them. We can both be sure I will visit this tree again.

Beautiful. I love the contrast between the dark sky and the white landscape; kinda the opposite of what our eyes are used to. The light and dark are nicely balanced, and the border fits the picture perfectly. I can't imagine how this could be any better.

A very cool shot.
You've got the focus going well here. The grass in the foreground is only just slightly blurry, which helps to lend scale to this picture. I really like the sky that you've captured too. The streaking clouds give the whole picture the illusion of the tree lasting against time's onslaught.
