Description
Even the strongest soldier has their superiors. The Commanders of the Enclave are some of the higher ranking ponies in the Enclave army, trusted to lead their troops to victory with their tactical minds. Leading from their position in the bridges of the massive Thunderheads, with a birds-eye view of the battlefield below, they make sure their side of the battle is in order and under their control to ensure victory with as little deaths of their own as possible.Yet even still they are under the orders of the Enclave Council in the surviving Pegasi cities above the clouds, so even they cannot respond to their own consciences that protest to massacring the inhabitants of the Equestrian Wastelands below.
The Commanders are not nearly as armed as their troops, as most of the materials the Enclave are able to obtain are given to the war effort, specifically arming their soldiers and Thunderheads. Wearing a simple padded barding and armed with a single magical energy pistol, they do not expect to enter the fray themselves unless things get desperate. But being soldiers once themselves, they are no stranger to combat, and could easily put up a fight should the battle go sour.

I always felt bad for them, too. While they could've been kinder to the ponies on the ground, they were just trying to live their lifestyles. There innocents who maybe also empathized with ponies of the wasteland, also. I almost can't play Fallout 3 for that very reason. In Broken Steel, you're murdering innocents who just wanted to live their way of life, a prime example of the effects of the player characters would be Arcade Gannon and those he fled with. Sadly, while the Enclave in both medias had great ideas, their presentation was lacking, and the presentation is everything.

To tell you the truth, I didn't like the Enclave. They were cold, harsh, and murderous to the survivors of the Wastelands. They practically wiped a city off of the map JUST TO GET TO ONE PONY! A city that was full of ponies who could nor wanted to fight. They almost took out New Appeloosa because they traded with Red Eye just so he wouldn't send his slaver ponies to raid their town. Oh, and the worst one of them all, they tried to become allies with the Goddess and help wipe out all non-pony kind and turn all pony kind into alicorns while they would stay alive above the cloud curtain.

Hey! I know it's been a while since you wrote this comment, but I want to accomplish a certain project of mine and I would appreciate your knowledge about the Enclave.
What was the one pony that caused the entire city of Canterlot to been wiped off, please? And what other stupid thing you thing they did or how they acted like morons? Thanks.
(Also, they wanted to destroy New Appleloosa to accomplish an interdiction over Red Eye's economy, is a real military tactic.)

I'm sure it was Calamity's brother, who's an Enclave admiral(forgot his name, I think it was Autem or something). As for their attack on New Appleloosa, it was a poor tactic. It only proved how selfish and careless the Enclave are. They could have simply came in and seize the village under hostage and ask the Appleloosians to surrender and give up their alliance with Redeye instead of trying to wipe their village off of the face of Equestria. It's almost like the Enclave act first, then think with their pockets full of money, then act again, giving a little to no crap about their thoughts or actions.Β

Maybe because he was trying to wipe out the ghoul population, including the ghouls who were still sane. Honestly, the Enclave were a selfish death army out to persicute and kill anyone who posed as a threat, dissagreed with them, or were just not appealing to them. *Cough* Like a certain police group that became the world's most hated military force to ever exist... *Cough cough*

I agree with you, but they were made to be obviously and unambiguously evil.
Now we can see, ponies don't make a very good Enclave in the fictional setting of Equestria.

this is obviously EXTREMELY late, but I have a good enclave pegasus. He was pretty naive about the atrocities the Enclave commit until he became a wonderbolt and was tricked into killing a dashite that was just trying to help some escaped slaves. He quit the wonderbolts, which had been his dream all his life, and has been wary of missions after that.

That is all very true, but they were one to survive and furthermore their race. True some actions were very questionable, and I believe that they shouldn't have happened. I believe the 'some' of the Enclave to be good, but not all of them obviously, doesn't mean they aren't awesome.

You can't just go against your own race/superiors, there are consequences. Most ponies in the Enclave, believe in what they are doing, believe that is right. Some of them are fearful of what could happened if they don't follow orders. All in all, I understand what you are saying, but it's not that easy >.>

Yes, there's that. But remember, some of the Enclave officers and soldiers did betray the Enclave because what they were doing was wrong and they knew it. Man, what would have been awesome for FoE was if the rebels actually broke off from the Enclave and renounced them themselves as "Rainbow Dash's Followers". They could have done the same thing the AJR did and both could have became allies, but instead, they could have used RD's cutiemark and colored their armor rainbows, or maybe the color of RD's mane. :3

Three things: the commanders didn't really go into battle, the Enclave didn't have enough resources to create armor for all pegasi who enrolled, and the Enclve government didn't give a crap about their army.
