It's not multi-player, it's Co-op. Same feel and fun you get in single player Dead Space, but it adds more to the scary atmosphere. For example: you play as Carver and start seeing crazy nonsense made by the marker, while your friend is just looking at you (the character being played) wondering to himself, "The faq is this guy talking to?"
Then Suddenly Necromorph attack!!!
You have to fend them off while your partner fights for his little remaining sanity and escape the mind maze that is the Marker's evil influence! And no worries, no AI will be involved; even if you play single player through the story, all the characters work independently. I did here word that there would be a forgeable drone that helps pick up stuff for you, however.
The Co-Op, to be more accurate, just adds more to the story than you would get single player; not necessary, but still fun to try! And NO: Xbox Kinect is NOT required. I'm more surprised that it still remains at all.
