Okay, there is a lot of headcanon stuff that goes along with this drawing. I shall explain later but for now I shall rant about how annoying this thing was.

I had to fix and add things non-stop it seemed like. I edited Sweet Devil England from the previous version I did to make him more accurate, though not completely. Those hearts were so annoying to color as well. I'm glad Paint.Net as that fade thingy/tool because it was extremely useful here with both the hearts and their tails.

Okay, on to the headcanon! I'm so sorry it's so long but it's his whole history and...I'm sorry!

Please note that some things in this headcanon have been pony-ized. The original headcanon dealt with human Arthur so...yeah....

Devil Arthur becomes a devil because he practiced black magic in his normal pony existence and was burned alive for his troubles. He was also a loyal follower of Satan in life so after his time in hell paying for his sins, he had his heart taken out so he couldn't be reincarnated and made a devil.

Now, he spent most of his years dutifully following the orders of his master and caused chaos in the mortal realm for many hundreds of years. He was even a pirate for a time, ruthless and fearing nothing on the open sea, hiding his wings with his coat.

Of course, it wasn't long before he found a pair of twins orphaned in the city where he was currently reeking havoc. A child's soul is a delicacy he'd yet to devour at that point but he wanted to season these two with taint of sin so he raised them.

They were not becoming tainted but he hadn't been trying to hard, growing far to attached. Not that he acknowledged it. Afterall, he was a devil with no heart for him to feel anything towards them. Still, longer and longer he put off devouring them until they were adults.

Of course, cruel fate had the twins at the mercy of a merciless beating that damaged them beyond recognition. Enraged, Arthur went on a killing spree of those that had harmed his boys. When he returned, bathed in blood, they lay dying. He wept openly, holding them as they breathed their last breaths and an angel came to retrieve them.

To his surprise, he had grown a second heart in his compassion and love for these two and was permitted into heaven, this heart untainted and therefore making him an angel. His boys had their memories erased, angels despising him, something caught between to worlds and able to shift from one form to the other. Their memories are locked but he still remembers and so do they on some level.

His heart is still pure, the one down in hell absorbing all the sin he can squeeze into the shriveled up thing. One day it will simply dry up, disappear completely, and he will no longer be able to taint it to keep himself pure, an angel. Then, still able to shift between the two forms, he will start to taint this heart in his chest and fall from heaven back down into hell. He will still have two forms but they will both be tainted, black, and he will be at the mercy of his former master once again.
