Description

UPDATE: Finally added his signature weapon, a techno-glaive (ala Krull/Dark Sector). He carries several of them on his person and can use them as melee or throwing weapons, and they have various different functions ala Batman's batarangs: explosive, knockout gas spraying, flashbang, electric shockers, entangling bolas, etc.

Another day, another character update.

This time we revisit one of Thunder Woman's newer rogues: the anti-superhuman specialist turned "flirty rival" (ala Catwoman) Mandragora.

A lot of the reason why I wanted to update him was for the simple reason that I never liked what I came up with for the original. If you look at it, you'll note that the original Mandragora basically was the head of David Xanatos on the body of Macbeth, two villains from the "Gargoyles" cartoon. The reason being that I just could not get that visual out of my head, and I couldn't come up with any other idea that didn't get immediately squashed in my head by that visual. So I went with it, with the notion that I'd come back with something a bit more distinctive and original.

Well, now that I'm doing an overhaul of TW's supporting cast and rogues gallery, it only made sense to finally get a chance to revisit Mandragora. I decided to really double down on the "male Catwoman" angle and try and give him a sense of sexiness. So I looked to characters that broadly fit that notion, like Nightwing, Geralt, and Solid Snake, amongst others. Though what really brought it all together was the mask, which if you take a look has an "M" shape to it. Despite Mandragora being Russian, I thought this would add a nice touch, and it does wonders for him.

I may update him in the future with some weapons and gadgets, once I figure out what those will be. I think nailing that down will really complete him as a character.
