The level of detail in this is nothing short of incredible!!
I truly hope one day to learn some of your amazing secrets. You my friend have inspired me in ways I can not yet describe.....so let's just say that it is because of works like this that I have begun to study anthropomorphic art and have taken a great interest in learning/studying more of your style.
Your works always amaze me, perhaps there are some tips you could lend?
If not, I fully understand. Just admiring such great works is enough for me.

Hey man, excuse the late reply !
Thanks for saying so! The only tips I can offer are to simply do what you love to do and check out lots of different artists, that's a great way to improve ! Everything else will come as you keep creating art
!
Hopefully I can get some new drawings up too! This one is getting pretty old !

Np! I love being able to see just how good people are with their drawing skills before it gets color. It inspires me to do better with my own work since I'm not very big on coloring. Although, I am hoping to see what her true occupation is too.

She looks and although your description says Townsend, my mind is screaming assassin messenger or just a deadly messenger really

I wonder: are those swathes on her chest meant to disguise her gender by hiding her breasts? For anthros, I suppose that would be a superficial cosmetic change at best since they could probably smell the difference between genders...? Hmm
As usual, the accoutrements of your characters truly root your characters' appearances in reality. From the individually pearled necklaces to the jeweled baubles to the embossed leather garters to the drapery of her loin cloth to the hard metal geometric shapes, everything stands out in its own unique contours and even textures given your mastery of the traditional medium of art.
Her pose is very casual, even showing a little anticipation with one of her legs over the other and the slight "upcurl" of her tail. Her arms behind her back shows that she is hiding something--in this case, expecting somebody mysterious or maybe someone she knows the person, and she is unaware of what might transpire. Intriguing.
Finally, her head is so realistic and meticulously detailed, I can almost expect her to cast her glance to the left and right with the same deliberate nonchalance of all exotic, big cats. The tiny lashes denote her femininity with subtle flair. She even seems to have "fur extensions" along the back of her head where hair may be growing out, in the fashion of most human females.
VERY sexy, my friend, and VERY well-drawn.

At the time I thought the swathes just suited her , I guess it was an attempt to take the focus off her chest and more to her face, which might have inadvertently had an opposite effect, I'm not sure
. Just something different to the usual skimpy outfits!
As for the idea of smelling gender, that probably depends on how anthro they are! In this case I'll let the viewer decide on that, and on whether she may be holding something . I like to think she is, but I'm not quite decided on what it may be.
Great comment as usual I'm glad you like her! I should use hair extensions more often
!

Beautiful work, the fur is very impressive and everything to the necklace to the background is done with amasing style. The character is very cute.

You manage to capture fur texture in a way few artists can I can see the fur quite well, but it doesn't obscure the natural shape of her body, which a combination of shadows and clothing help to bring out. You're clothing and accessory designs also feel very appropriate for the character here! I love the places where there's a little bit of fur flowing over the clothing; this actually goes a long way to making the drawing look realistic!

Yeah working on the fur is one of the big reasons I like anthro , there's just something about it! Which is mostly the reason as to why I opt to put jewellery everywhere instead of lots of clothing, besides from jewellery being fun to mess about with
! Thank you for the wonderful comment

How do you do such amazingly realistic fur without using any colour? This is fantastic. As someone said already she does look a tiny bit dangerous, either that or watchful of course, it could be that. She kind of looks a bit too dangerous to be evil, if you get me. Truly evil people usually look nicer, whereas she looks pretty but bad if you know what I mean, so probably not bad at all, maybe just sails close to the wind.

BubbleWolf In reply to jboweruk [2012-04-06 13:14:21 +0000 UTC]
Heeey, yeah I wasn't intending for her to look evil, just to have an expression that gives a bit of contrast to to rest of her which I suppose could be considered to be more delicate . As for the fur, it just kinda turns out like that, hopefully I'd be able to get the same effect with colour, which is just aswell as I've got some colour stuff on the go
!

Can't wait to see it, if that fur looks as good in colour you have it cracked well and truly.

So gorgeous!! Words cannot compare nor compensate for the richness and hardwork put into this piece. I really like the contrast that you brought out with you hatching and blending (you did use the hatching technique, right )
And the mischievous eyes...the eyes. This is beautiful, the expression captured without the color is a pure win
