Backstory: Coatls are a benevolent race new to Equestria, living in the southern region of land granted to them by Celestia and Luna. At least that's what Aether says to the ponies who ask him. In reality Aether is a magical being made from the inspiration manifestation magic spell possessing a normal boa constrictor. Not even Aether knows his full potential with his magic, but he has to remain in complete control of his mental barriers to stop the magic from taking over his mind.

A kind and generous coatl, Aether works hard to help his friends and to protect him though they worry about him working himself to the bone. In some respects maybe he is.

Personality: Generous, kind, caring, and a dork but has a good heart and tries to help his friends

Short Comings: Tries too hard to fit in, doesn't think before he says something, helps everyone so much that he doesn't take care of himself

Job: Mail Coatl at the Fillyville Mail Plant

Residence: Fillyville, Coltucky

Age: 26; turning 27 in two months

Sexuality: Straight but flirts with everyone

Relationship Status: Single

Each coatl has a destiny per se, but instead of a colourful mark on the butt, coatls represent their destiny through their colours. Each coatl will have one of the traditional seven colours of the rainbow as a base color, representing their overall personality and outlook. Since Aether Storm is a yellow based coatl, he has a overall positive personality, and is optimistic and intelligent.

Red based Coatls - Intense, strong, passionate; though wrathful, lustful, and have trouble controlling emotions in a tense situation.
Blue based Coatls - Sanquine, calm, wise, stable; though is sometimes depressed or sad.
Yellow based Coatls - Overall happy, hopeful, loyal, and intelligent; though prone to cowardice or deceit.
Green based Coatls - Nurturing, happy, protective, creative, and harmonious; though is prone to greed and jealousy.
Orange based Coatls - Free spirited, happy, calm but energetic; though sometimes flighty and lonely due to not wanting to be "stuck" in one place.
Indigo based Coatls - Wise, spiritual, enlightened; though is sometimes depressing and dark.
Violet based Coatls - leader, magestic, honorable, kind, and beautiful; though is sometimes power hungry, prideful, shallow, or dark.

Coatls can come in two ways, either with a lot of feathers often appearing "fluffy," or with hardly any except for the wings. Aether though is a mix and personally I welcome the creativity. Coatls though must represent a balance as they are a mix of earth and air attributes of the animals they are combined of. There is no such thing as perfect coatl, for they are as diverse as the stars each with a personality all their own. Coatls don't have a "leader" species since they are spread out throughout Equestria and not clumped up to warrant a country or region for them. Every coatl could be considered a god in terms of power, but more often times they either want to be left alone or just to mingle with the ponies of Equestria. Because they are technically gods, every coatl has a "mortal" form, avatar form, and a true form.

The Mortal form is what coatls take on when mingling with the ponies of Equestria so they won't cause fear and distrust amongst them. A mortal form can age if the coatl lets it or can be blended with attributes from the other forms like growing a feathery "mane" along the coatl's back, and developing "tribal" block like lines on each side of the body.

The Avatar form is the form a coatl takes on mainly to intimidate their foes, or to use a portion of their godly might that the mortal form can't handle. The avatar form is characterized by the feathery "mane," tribal markings, and longer stylized feathers. Coatls only take on this form if a fight is unavoidable and will protect their friends and loved ones.

The True form, or god form, is the coatl's real form manifest into reality. This is how coatls really look and depending on their powers, abilities, and personality is what characterizes this form. Some coatls take on the traditional statue style with energy forming between the blocks, some take on the appearance of a gust of wind, or a stream of water. The true form is what you think your coatl oc would be when all bets are off in a fight or to meet with Equestrian Royalty to "impress."
