Description
I expect there will be three parts to the "Drawing Gaga": Part One is mostly the face; Part Two is mostly hair; and Part Three is a surprise. Sorry for the quality of Part One: I photographed the stages which was a mistake as they are too dark. Part Two and Part Three will be scanned.Materials are a 2B pencil and Derwent colorsoft color pencils and a gum eraser. The time taken for each stage varies between 2 to 5 hours approximately.

Kleenex is tissue paper. So it's not so fancy unless you are using fancy tissue paper. Thank you very much for the nice comment! You are very sweet.

The pleasure is all mine. There's nothing worse than sitting alone with your stuff (well maybe there are a few worse things). I guess that's one of the best things about DA: you get to connect with other people who are interested in art!

So true! It's very inspiring! And you Inspired me too...I started a portrait of Gaga yesterday, although it's going to be black/white. I have to practice more with colored pencils before I do portraits I made an octopus-butterfly drawing yesterday in color, and It didn't really came out as I wanted. I wanted to put more dark colors into it, but all of the orange colors are so bright! Oh, well, I don't tire you more with my complaints, keep up the great work

Not at all! I love talking about art. If you're using bright orange you might want to try its complimentary color for shadows ("bright" purple blue?). Maybe try it on a scrap first, and if it works, try a teeny bit with even soft one way strokes on your picture where you want the darkest point to be. Keep it light so that you can erase it and not tear a hole in your picture. Erasers are an artists best friend!

Thank you for your sweet helpfulness, I will try it for sure
I thought about it, how do I know which color should be used for certain colors to make them darker? Does it depend on their places in the color wheel? YOu should use the color which is in front of the chosen color, right? So at green, it's red?

I can't say for sure, because I don't have a color wheel, but I think so. Most importantly you should experiment on a scrap paper. Then if you're satisfied, try it lightly on your drawing very carefully and only on a small place. Lastly don't be afraid to experiment, especially with bright colours. Your brain will tell you not to use bright purple for a shadow, but if the object is bright orange, dark purple will make it heavy and ugly (at least in my view). Experiment, be brave (on scrap paper) and keep a "very clean" eraser handy (just cut the dirty parts off with the scissors). And as for the advice, hey, I'm a mom. It's a compulsive obsessive disorder lols

Disorder? How sweet
I'm going to do it today, and if you just type color wheel into google, it gives you a few versions, so you can check them
