[link]The motion sickness past, I’ll be the first to stand.
Behind that weathered door, I thought it would be safest.
My head is dizzy now, I thought we’d overcome.
i've heard my art consists of depth-less, scratchy, unfinished sketches that show my lack of commitment and heart.
but if this doesn't prove that idea wrong, along with every drawing i ever make, from scrap to original concept art to completely colored fanart, i don't know what will...
i pour my heart into my drawings, no matter what the subject is. and i happen to find inspiration in good story-telling.

I love the scratchy look of your drawings. It is part of your style. I fall in love with all of your drawing because of the rawness of the art. It doesn't have to be colored or perfect. True fans of yours love this about all of your drawings. It wouldn't be the same if you started to draw hard lines and colored everything perfectly in Photoshop like some artist. Don't get me wrong, I love art like that too, but if you, Burdge, started to draw like that, it just wouldn't be you. The nakedness, or purity, of your art is refreshing and floods me with so much emotion. I get what the characters, you, and even sometimes the author, were feeling, and the art draws those emotions forward in me. I hate that people hate on you for you. You are amazing. I love every piece of art that you make. Please keep doing what your doing because you light up my day when I see a Deviant watch from you.

I just love the way you draw things messy, the way you draw things clean and the way you draw. It's obvious that you pour your heart into your drawings. Someone who doesn't do that, couldn't create the expressions you make.

Whoever said that is an a-hole, your style is beautiful and very detailed. Just the way you draw the characters-their facial features, body language, expressions are amazing and shows so much more than some of the flashier colored or made-on-the-computer art. All of your sketches that I’ve seen are amazing, and show serious talent and lots of studing. <3 Haters and Trolls are always going to be dicks.

I find nothing wrong with messy and scratchy art. It covers up most mistakes that the eraser couldn't erase sometimes, and as most of your artwork doesn't have color, uncleaned sketches aren't exactly bad next to the other fanart.

I don't know who said those mean things; whoever they are, they're missing the point. Your sketches show depth where you want it, I prefer the 'scratchy' style to clean lines any day, and if you care more about the technical details of a piece than what it shows, or the emotions it evokes, you would probably be better off teaching technique in a school than critiquing a stranger on DA.
I love your art, and your style-- you make me want to pick up a pencil and sketchbook, which is really saying something!
Keep having fun with it, and keep drawing what you want- nothing kills a piece of artwork faster than a dislike or disinterest in the act or subject.

Who ever said that obviously can't appreciate good art when they see it. Anyone should see that each of your drawings are heartfelt - whether it be the sketched ones or the ones that are fully colored with every line perfected. I can see the emotion of every piece you've drawn, and that happens to be one of the reasons I love your art so much - you get even the tiniest details down, adding so much more to every piece. I mean, just this piece alone - I can feel the desperation, the longing they have for each other. Also, I happen to think that the sketches show that you actually do put time and effort into your drawings. I prefer that look in some situations, actually; I find it looks better than a cleaned up, color version would have.
My point being, the majority of us can tell that you do put effort into your work, so those who can't don't deserve to be given a second thought.
I know this was posted a while back, but this is still what I think, and I just really wanted to tell you I love your work, so please continue doing what you do. <3

Well, people obviously don't know what they're talking about. You draw emotions like NO other. You're pretty amazing- AND besides your talent for drawing in general, you have yet another talent- you catch the spirit of all our favorite characters, you draw them just like I've always pictured them! No movie producer, or artist has ever managed to do that as well as you!

This drawing is full of heart and soul! (And so are all your other drawings), if this doesn't change that person's mind about your art, then they obviously don't have a clue of how to make emotion through art
Art isn't all about getting it all realistic and having no scratches everywhere and everything has to be absolutly perfect, it's about telling the story.
The "Arts" is drawing, music, acting, painting, photography, writing etc, and what all those things have in common is telling a story. Every one of your drawings tells a story, shows an emotion, it gives vision and heart and makes us feel something. We only draw if we feel something, and behind that something is a story. It's a way of expressing ourselves.
You are the best example of story telling there is through out drawing that I know, whoever said those nasty things probably only thinks art should be all about "smoothness", "stillness", "colouring every speck of the page", and "perfection", nothing is perfect, perfection doesn't exist. The best things are never perfect,
but, have you ever drawn anything and your friends or family look at your drawing and say "Don't rub that out! It looks good like that.", but in your mind it's not what you see it like? That just shows that imperfection is the most captivating, eyecatching, heartfelt, and most relatable of all drawings.
Don't ever stop drawing, don't draw for other people, draw for yourself.

I actually prefer the sketchy, messy, unfinished look. It gives insight as to the underdrawing and the person drawing it. I feel like that might portray more emotion than that of a perfectly dolled up digital painting. Plus, I feel like if my sketches look like this, then I'm in good shape.
