Description [link]
The motion sickness past, I’ll be the first to stand.
Behind that weathered door, I thought it would be safest.
My head is dizzy now, I thought we’d overcome.

i've heard my art consists of depth-less, scratchy, unfinished sketches that show my lack of commitment and heart.

but if this doesn't prove that idea wrong, along with every drawing i ever make, from scrap to original concept art to completely colored fanart, i don't know what will...

i pour my heart into my drawings, no matter what the subject is. and i happen to find inspiration in good story-telling.

Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase (c) Rick Riordan

ps. sorry for the rant. you guys don't need to hear me whining.

I adore your scratchy unfinished sketches. However they're anything but depth-less. I always envy the way you can tell a story or emotion, sometimes without words, just using your pictures.

Your pictures are so well-drawn that before it even said "Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase (c) Rick Riordan" on the bottom, I knew it was them. pfft, you're like one of the best artists I've ever seen.

Honestly, I believe that sketches tend to have more life and emotion in them than clean, lined work... and this right here is proof of it. There's more heart in this image than most of the other artwork I've seen in a while.

i like "scratchy, unfinished sketches" it looks solid and real and shows talent beyond photoshop or whatever. Although those things are great, I can see your raw talent, adn i like it (:

Hon, your drawings have more depth, feeling, commitment and heart than mine ever have or probably will have. You're amazing and actually kind of my favorite artist on DA since I made my account. You inspire me and many others (&) shouldn't let anyone tell you otherwise.(; And after all...haters make you famous, yeah?

VERY powerful piece! It brought tears to my eyes when I first saw it...and maybe that's because I'm a sap, but it really is emotionally loaded.
Beautiful, as always.

you are extraordinarily talented. In everyone of your pieces, I see so much emotion. The subjects seem to be living. You tell a story every time you draw! Don't listen to any of those negative people. They are just jealous because they don't have your awe-inspiring gift!

I always look forward to your next piece of art! Keep up working your magic!!

You know what?
I'm glad you don't believe those hipsters.
They're severely jealous,
I for one feel the emotion you pour out onto your art, and it moves me... you're very inspiring.

I think sketches show a butt load of depth, anyway.
So, doode.
They're just wrong.

whoever told you that is a complete moron.

the fact that most of your drawings seem "sketch"like isn't because they lack commitment and heart. In fact, the unfinished, rough quality of each line gives the drawing its reality: the heart, life, emotion comes from the capturing of a fleeting moment that a full-fledged drawing never could capture. The finished artwork is too precise, too planned, and it often strips any dramatic scene of its vivacity.

In other words, I love your stuff, keep up what you're doing, and never believe anyone who tell you your drawings are life-less.

No worries for the rant: if anyone says your work lacks commitment or heart, they must not have eyes to see. EVERYTHING of yours is full of heart. Besides that, I really like the "scratchy" style. It feels more real to me.

i hardly ever leave comments, especially on people who get hundreds of comments on all their works. but can i just say this? i can't believe how anyone could say your work doesn't show commitment or heart. i've lurked deviantart for a long time now and even though i never comment and rarely fav, you're by far my favorite artist on here. just LOOKING at this picture makes me want to cry, there's so much feeling in it. i'm not an artist in the sense that i draw, but i'm a writer. i've written two books and am working hard on a third and i can honestly say that your art inspires me to write. which you'd think is weird, but seeing you create these beautiful pieces of work that just evoke so much emotion out of damn near everyone who sees them makes me want to do the same with my words and make something that gives people as much happiness as you're able to. so thank you so much for sharing this art, and to hell with those who say otherwise

I'm totally for sketches, finished or not. Although paintings are inspiring as well, sketches in my opinion are the heart of a piece. They're raw and awesome on their own!

And I enjoy your sketches. : )

All these Percy Jackson inspired drawings of yours makes me want to read the books.

i'd believe the scratchy part, but that's part of the charm of your work. i spend more time cleaning up lines than i should when its missing a hand or something...but the grass is always greener on the other side, i guess.
i think the scratchy lines look better. :3
but yeah, depth
