For some reason or another, I find the composition of the shot intriguing. It is as if the vending machine were in the centre of the composition merely to draw attention away from the man. A nuance like that certainly makes a street view more impressive. Asymmetry in a symmetric environment is quite captivating.

An astute observation. We do need an awful lot of artificial creations to operate properly, at least the majority of us. This is the underlying reason why I (among other things) like urban photography. It captures the curiosities of the technogenic environment that we have locked ourselves in.

They do have beer vending machines but this is not one of them. In Tokyo the are quite rare. In Osaka I've seen them more often, and they even have whisky and sake vending machines!
