Well, most people hate it because they say it has god awful writing which was worse than in Colors (Sonic Colors is actually a guilty pleasure of mine).

So just because it hasΒ cylinder-like terrains that float in the sky, planetoids, and land masses, it doesn't exactly make it a ripoff. I just don't see it.

Other than that, it's a really good game.

It's like this, Sonic Lost World did follow the format presented in Sonic Colors. Only difference is that SLW proved that the new format was more harmful than good.

...3DS version sucks. Only the first level is any good. The second level isn't TOO bad, but the rest basically suck. (Though I do like one of those sky levels, because you're riding missiles in the sky as you dodge fireballs from robot dragons.)

But now that Sonic's play style is different, I'm really hoping they make a Mario/Sonic crossover that's a PLATFORMER with a STORY and that ISN'T a spin-off!

I hope it happens, but I'm not expecting it...
On a kind of stupid thought, you know the "secret" fifth playable character in Super Mario 3D World? What if they released DLC characters! Just imagine playing 3D World as Link, or Samus, or Pit! ...Or Sonic! (If they actually pulled off getting Sonic as a DLC character, I'd be SO excited to play those bosses where Bowser's got that car!)
