Apophysis 7x.15D and a little GIMP.
I felt like making a tweak of my previous flame so I made one! I think it came out different, even if I changed only the final xform.
Put triboarders and post_curl3D. Let me see...I abandoned blooms for a while and now I've made two fractals in a row with *FractalDesire 's technique.
I'm hopeless!

It really saddens me seeing beautiful flames like this being ruined by depth of field. Basically 90% of the picture is blur and only a small fraction is up for us to appreciate. Something really needs to be done about this. People abuse that DoF slider way too much in Apophysis.

It's a matter of tastes. There are people who like DOF and people who don't.
Personally, I love it. I honestly prefer images with DOF rather than the others, and I'm not telling about fractals only, I also enjoy macro photography. That's why I try to reproduce this macro style in my fractals putting heavy values of Depth Blur, and I do that because I like the result and not for other reasons.
But this is my opinion, and thank you for expressing yours.
