Description So, it is finished, thanks to spending the whole Sunday with working on this. (You might remember this sketch  I made to get an idea of the dinosaurs and their environment.)
Although I said it's done in watercolors I also used pastels and few colored pencils, because the sky didn't look in the way I wanted to have, that's why I fixed its appearance with pastels.
Transferring this traditional artwork into a digital version was a bit more complicate, since my camera isn't the best and the scanner was the only option to get a less blurry / pixelated picture, but you can't compare it to the impression when looking at the original. If you like, you  can have a look at the photo version: hunt in the lowlands-photo
Both needed a color adjustment in Gimp.

Thank you much for stopping by and to look at my attempt in traditional media

Looks really great, better than I could ever make in watercolors. I like that you're illustrating some feathered Allosaurs now, since I think it's an equal chance they have feathers as were completely scaled.

It was a wonderful opportunity to do something in traditional media and to give Allosaurus a different appearance. Now, that it is finished, the picture is proudly on display in my kitchen to give guests an impression how they would have dined in the Jurassic.

Nice work, man. Definitely worth the effort you've put in it.
I really like how you've paid attention to all kinds of details like feathers, wrinkels in the skin, reflections in the water and even the dragmarks in the mud.

Thank you a lot for this great praise
I tried to apply that, what I've learned from my digital works and my observations in nature. Sometimes, I see things outside and wonder about, how I could draw them (digitally).

Makes it much more lively than a black & white pencil sketch.

Why is this mature content,it's only blood.

Well, I'm not sure about when something needs to be labeled as mature content. If the intestines were visible there I would say yes, but the blood and slash marks... ?

General rule of thumb, if a six-year-old can't see it, it's mature. (only because there's no in between here)

Ah, okay. I think the picture is not overly graphic, so I removed the "mature" content label.
