Description I'm starting to Finally get embarrassed of posting so much neopets art work.
Once I outline and colour this one, I'll probably make a human version and post that one on here.
And then make the other version for NNTM.

Anyway.
This guy's name is Zeisc Iltze Aitoti. (His nickname is Jerkface though, and that's what I tend to call him.)
Iltze Aitoti means 'Blood Dance' in Yaxk'in. The Country that he grew up in.
Its like the size of Hawaii.
I've got a full world map of that Planet Mahira, I'll post it up eventually.

His eyes bug me in this picture a little bit, but I like how the rest of the face turned out.
Used two different ref images for the hands. Since the original hands I had before were kind of junkie.

That previous full lineart I posted is his original out fit. This out fit here is part of a challenge from NNTM.

I really have having a hard time with his character though for some reason. He just doesn't. . . Feel like my character. D: It's really weird, i'm not even sure how I would explain it. It almost feels like stealing. Ragefaceplz. It's frustrating me more than my 2 hours of sleep I've been getting every night for a week.

Bah. Opinions?

I think you need to jump out and create something 100% nothing you've done yet. Your characters seem to kinda be blurring together and looking a lot alike.

Work with face shapes, body types, nnn idk but something needs to be changed. I dont' know what.

I thought a bit of that earlier.
All that came to mind was facial hair for some reason. lol
Sounds like a good idea, that's for sure. Probably need some help with that though. My creativity has been limited. There's an online character creation course I've seen, I've considered taking in the future.

Pin pointing what needs to be changed specifically is proving to be more difficult than it needs to be.
I wonder if my teacher will let me work on art improvement in LAC block if I'm all caught up.
Determined to make 2011 a bit leap for my art. *A*

Well not to say your style should be changed, but try different body shapes.

As for characters if you've got a douche bag, like say my Albel, make something different. Make the character look his/her part. Albel was fit, but didn't do a lot of work. He was thin. Leon DID do a lot of physical work and thus he should have been built with a bit more muscle.

Experiment with different cultures. I've got White characters, black ones, Mexican, Spainish, and so on. Take a look at the characteristics of that culture. That too can help you diversify your people.

I am still trying to find a happy point for my style though. Killin' two pests with the same bullet (Yes, that's my version, sh~ xD)

Most of my character's do have particular builds, but I'm either too lazy, forget or just totally fail and making it look like so. Or I just carried away sometimes.
Rieve is tall and pretty much does no physical work at all and has like no muscle mass. Aku supposed to be quite built, but on a small frame. Angel is this scrawny little thing cause Freedom doesn't let him do anything physically demanding.

I actually made a list the other day of all my character's different Nationalities.
Korean, South American, Aborigine, Native, German, Swedish, and a number of others I can't seem to remember ATM.
A lot of them though have no backgrounds yet though.
I guess a lot of it is limited to my drawing ability.

I know, but you don't DRAW those traits I've noticed. As I said something as simple as changing the shape of a nose or body. Winter's ears would be one example.

And try doing what I am. Pick ONE thing you want to improve on. Then in ALL your pictures for this month work on improving that ONLY. I've been doing this and it makes it less noticeable when you try out new things and so your art doesn't look that bad if it turns out to be a no go. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

For example, One month I worked on finding a lineart technique I liked. I didn't change my coloring style, anatomy or nothing. I drew those as I would, then worked on lineart in every picture I drew that month. I finally found a lineart not only I love but I enjoy. Next month I worked on shading. Kept the new lineart I learned but left everything else aside from my usual shading (if I ever shade).

You have a huge goal and keep looking to get it all at once. Let's say, You had a big goal of opening a new shop. You're not going to charge in and hire people, buy product, buy the shop and do everything that one month. No first you'll work on buying the shop, next the product, and so on. Same applies. You've got this huge goal and you are trying to tackle it all at once. Slow down some.

Good point. Yeah, bit too ambitious without a plan.

There's so many things I want to do though, and I don't have the faintest idea where to start. The longer I don't know where to start, the more things I want to work on.
I wonder how well writing them down, cutting them out, putting them in a hat and pulling out the first one I grab would work.

it's just for a month. Nobody said you can't go back to it another month. But do take a break. If you've not found it that month then try something else and go back to it.

He doesn't feel like your character? Like you just can't get a feel for a good character for him or something?

and I think it's looking super good so far! I'm jealous of people who can draw on the comp, I have to sketch everything on paper first.

If I could give a crit... I feel like his face is a bit too far to the right with the way his head is turning. And the eyes do give me a funny feeling but hey it's just a sketch, I know it'll be awesome when you line it

I have quite the firm idea of his character and what he's like. But for some reason, it still feels like some one else's character.
That's probably about all I can explain it as.

Actually, it was started on paper. Lol

Thank you for the feedback!
Yeah, I've been having a bit of a problem with the eyes. Tryin' to fix em. Maybe I'll try that flip trick.
