Painted on one layer and colors picked by eye.At the end i did a slight color corretion.

I'll try to get a little more overall detail in it next time.
I was kinda short on time for this so i just focused more or less on the overall value, colors and refined the elephant a little to keep the focus on the main subject.
I think it took me between 1 and 2 hours.

1-2 hours seems pretty good. The values are all there and working well. I need to be doing the same thing and pushing texture. Custom brushes for the win!

That's a cool color study. The grass lighting looks pretty convincing, the light patch and the shadows in particular. No color picking too, that's nice. Going by eye is the way to go! My only suggestion is to try and get some more texture brushwork in there. The overall values look good though, it's pretty realistic when I blur my eyes!
