The 7th and final part of the Pilot for Sun-Dried Cherries! Thank you for reading all the way here!
So Cherry Churro... sorry, I mean "CC" has finally made her historic introduction! Ain't she kewt? :3
Just keep an eye out for that cowlick, though -- you don't want to poke an eye out after all.

You're off to a fantastic start! I want to just compile my comments here~
First, I really like her mane... No, I meant to say, I like that you said right off in the first two comics that this was inspired by My Little Pony, but is not necessarily My Little Pony. It goes ahead and gets all the questions people may have about the universe and lack of cutie marks out of the way.
Second, I really thought the way you introduced the characters. I feel like I can already tell they're going to be a fun duo, and I can already see that Cherry's going to be the silly filly.
Third, I really like her mane! Really this time, the design on both of these ponies is excellent. You did a most excellent job with them.
Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. You're off to a fantastic start! ^___^

You got it, the first few panels were in fact acknowledgement of my roots and a chance to place aside MLP influences gracefully. There will be MLP references later, though, but they definitely won't be the same as what we're used to. ^__^
I would describe CC as the "sillier" filly -- the roles will change a lot, and in some strips they will even play the part of villains (albeit very bad ones). But on average, yeah, CC is the cheerier one and DD is the dry one. They're both very intelligent, though, although perhaps the book smarts leans a little more heavily towards DD while CC has more of the edge in street cred. :3
And thank you! So happy you like the character design, and I'm happy to be able to share that design with everyone (since you may have noticed these are VERY liberally "licensed"). ^^
Just as a fun bit of trivia, CC was originally Sarsaparilla Sancoche, until I decided on Cherry Churro both for ease of pronunciation and as an excuse to put an ahoge on her. ^^
But I still managed to cameo SS in there. XD
I was originally planning to make these weekly, but I think I can manage a twice-per-week schedule. If I can do 7 panels in one days (and higher-than-usual quality ones), it's definitely possible. ^^

Well I certainly wanted to give this the best first impression possible -- after the pilot, we're going to settle back into the proper routine of either one strip per week, or two. ^^
And yay! You're a Cowlick Buddy -- it's nice to know I'm not alone!
DD's tousle also sorta/kinda acts as a cowlick of sorts, and it does have its own special powers. What these girls like in unicorns horns, they make up for in very very very strange, autonomous hair. :3
