C-quel — SSandSPDT - Final WIP

A continuation of my sketch here: [link]BACKGROUND ADDED!!! >v<
Getting very darn close, I would say this is easily at 90% completion. The wood grain on the bench and boards took a while, but the sea was surprisingly easy to create with some of the acrylic brushes.
Note that the background behind the bench had a last-minute change... instead of just water (which Haya liked but thought was visually confusing), I changed the setting to a tropical cliff overlooking the sea. I'm happier with this change not only because it makes the backdrop more defined, but it also gives me an excuse to add some interesting water details I've never tried before. ^^
Note also that everything was done in MyPaint, except for a last-minute Grain Merge Blend in GIMP to brighten up the lighting in the background.
The last piece of this work are the accessories for Kai and Cyllia (and Kana, who's not in this picture but is taking the shot).

Admittedly it came at the cost of a HUGE time expenditure (drawn a little bit a day over the course of a month), and there's still another 10% to go before this is formally finished. But glad you like it so far. ^___^b

Is it me, or is Kai a bit undersized? It looks as if her legs were smaller than her body.

Perspective shot, although admittedly it's not too obvious now. Deevad (of MyPaint lore) actually showed me a few tips on how to improve the top-down perspective further, so look for another update soon that will incorporate his suggestions and make the scene way better in that regard.
[though Cyllia's feet kinda allude to it a little now, seeing as how the right one is way bigger than the left one on the wood planks]
Plus it's important to note that Kai is VERY small, so being undersized will be the norm regardless.

You mean for Kai? Might be coincidence... the gimmick is that both their hair is untied on each opposite end (which is why Cyllia doesn't have her twintail on the left side).
Kai's curtain hair is kind of hidden behind Cyllia's, which is why you only see the left side in its natural bowl-shaped state (what I call the "Henrietta" style)....
