Yeah man, America is so damn for freedom and pro-democracy.
Hey remember when it illegally gave TOW anti-tank missiles and Hawk anti-aircraft missiles to Iran in the mid 1980s?
And when the US financially supported the human rights abusing, rebel forces, the Contras in the mid 1980s using the money from the arms sales with Iran?
Oh and when it helped the Indonesian government during the December 1975 to October 1999 genocide of East Timor which subjected the people of East Timor to extra-judicial executions, routine and systematic torture, massacres and deliberate starvation?
And where it helped the British orchestrate a coup d'état to overthrow the democratically elected Prime Minister of Iran, Mohammad Mosaddegh in 1953 to instate the Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi?
Or when in 1974 it helped the Military Junta (Junta Militar de Gobierno) headed by Augusto Pinochet in its veto coup d'état and overthrowing the Unidad Popular Government headed by the democratically elected President, Salvador Allende?
Not forgetting when it helped dispose the and democratically elected Guatemalan President Jacobo Arbenz during a coups d'état near the ended of the Guatemalan Revolution in place of installing the military dictatorship of Carlos Castillo Armas.
Yeah, the US totally loves democracy right?

From what I understand, when we go to war over seas, it's usually more about installing the leaders that we want in office, because whenever the Muslim Brotherhood gets voted in fairly, we end up with a problem.

Democracy is utopian ideology, so it's misleading

The easiest way, is too produce the textures yourself.
Get a camera digital/film dossnt mater, or a scanner, and start produceing your own things.
Way more fun, and you get alot more in return.. style wise
Good textures are often found in old books, the backside of old paintings, old wallpaper/paint, or concrete. (of course depending on what your lookin for old or new)

i love it... you have included so many tiny details that both add to the big picture as well as bring a new meaning all on their own.. for example, the broken eagle.. i mean, wow.. and the evolution going on.. its a story all on its own.. great great work

Ok, first of all, I’m no good at deciphering political pieces, so bear with me here.
The amount of detail you inject into each piece is astounding. It's like one of those things where each time you look at, you find something new staring back at you, be it an idea, symbol, or an object.
How much time does it take you to figure out a concept and carry it out it?
The artistic presentation is great. The quality of the textures and resources you used are also great, and they blend well under your theme of 1970’s war comics. Not that I’ve seen any, but I guess I can imagine.
Regarding the content of the piece, I love how ironic everything is; how every little detail symbolizes something profound. The human evolution theory and the idea of how man mutates into a soldier was put to great use, despite the fact that I think Mr. Darwin’s ideas on The Origin of Species are a load of crap. I love how each soldier seems to be holding the gun at a level higher than the previous soldier.. until you get to the dead body and see a confused soldier staring back at the corpse. I imagine him thinking about morals and ethics and whether what he’s doing is right or wrong.
I love how the eagle is broken and placed on a broken rusted scale. Makes you think the “system” is quite flawed and broken in itself. It’s interesting how the big soldier in the middle is wearing the Crown of Thorns and has a bleeding cross engraved on his helmet. Is the reason behind it the same as the one I noted you with?
Also, like I mentioned in the note, the silhouette of the trees adds a tremendous effect on the image I think, as it makes it look like I am in hiding and am witnessing something I was never meant to see.. the REAL story behind democracy and how ironic and twisted the reality of it is.
Did a bit of background research and I find it interesting that 1945 is the year Harry Truman ran for presidency and got elected. “Truman's presidency was eventful in foreign affairs, starting with victory over Germany, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II, the founding of the United Nations, the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe, the Truman Doctrine to contain Communism, the beginning of the Cold War, the creation of NATO, and the Korean War. The war became a frustrating stalemate, with over 30,000 Americans killed”. Excluding the beneficial stuff like the creation of the U.N. and NATO, was this the meaning you intended behind 1945?
My only critique would be the quality of the flag in the background. It looks slightly pixilated and not as sharp as the rest of the image, especially on the right.. maybe if you recreated the flag on whichever program you used for the entire image? The quality would definitely look better. Unless of course, you intended for it to be depicted this way.
Great piece all in all Morten. Thanks for asking me to take a look, I was too absorbed with other matters and wouldn't have had a chance to check it out, hehe. You should do that more often

Meaning intended behind wassnt exactly what you mentioned, but the facts you highlighted does indeed play a big part in the overall theme of this piece.. what I mean by ever since 45, is that that time truly marks the time where USA arised as a "world might" and from then on would start exporting their idiologies and lifestly all over the world.
The victory of second world war, is in my eyes, was the greatest boost USA could ever wish for and so widely know even today the war is, that you can go back to it and bring out the nationalizm in your citizens when ever you want it, and even more so, blind their eyes with the love for their own herritage..
About the pixelated flag, I know what you mean, and I let it be cause I liked the effect.. though I might think about replacing it with a better photograph now that you mention it
Thanks alot for every single word Lia.. you know how i feel, so I wont waist time here, in re-writing what iv told you, for the "public" ears.. (no offence public ppl )
Cheers,
Chris
