Description
It a WiP of my 40k fan fiction design of the next generation sentinel walkers.Key features:
- Water/gas-tight hull for employment in hostile environment
- Huge legs - can easily pass over difficult terrain and crush smaller obstacles/vehicles/hostile creatures
- high profile (can be both advantage and disadvantage), can be easily spotted in open spaces, can spot enemies in cover (such as trenches, craters, ruined buildings etc.)
- More armor than a standard imperial Lemann Russ tank
- Auto-cannon with 200 shells. Good for sniping high value infantry targets at long range, and effective anti-vehicle at medium range
- Twin-linked heavy bolters with 1500 rounds for anti-infantry at short to medium distances
- 16 napalm/prometeum bombs against danger close infantry and other small to medium sized organic targets.
*Bombs are dropped directly under the feet of the walker
- 4 grenade tubes for deploying smoke/gas grenades
- 10 hunter-killer missiles for use against heavy armored targets and intercepting low-flying aircraft

That's good, but a little over powered for a sentinel. If I saw it on the table top I'd be like "Oh hell no." But if it's for a story that would be a little more understandable.

Well, you see, I started this one like 2 months ago and did not have the time to finish it... I will fix that soon
About that mech's capabilities - the design is based on the sentinel, I did not made a size comparison tough, please bare in mind that Guardian is bigger than Sentinel and it's more like medium assault vehicle rather than scout.
Oh, the things I had to endure putting this design to life - I even got accused in heresy! Could you imagine that?! Hah!
In the end it all seem right you'll see

I can see how some would say that's heretical; I doubt the Adeptus Mechanicus would appreciate the pain the machine spirit would go through with so many alterations.
Just remember, there's always a place in the Greater Good for those who seek to improve upon things.

Well if you come to think of it... artificer armor IS an alternation to the machine spirit, since power armor and bolters also have it inside
Never the less, I'll keep you offer for darker times... like when I get expelled from the Imperium for been over zealous

Next generation? Why change any of the milennia-old trustworthy designs of the Mechanicus? That's heresy!
Nice concept, but not very 40k, since the fluff is a low-tech scifi-universe. All machine designs in 40k are milennia old and it is regarded as heresy to change anything about them. Building a Mk II Sentinel would be something the Dark Mechanicus does.
However, there is no heresy in modifying an existing model to fit special circumstances. This will create a new pattern of the same machine, which is as much improvement as the Mechanicus will allow... ^^

Have a go for it... In the end it's always the other fans who'll decide whether a fanfiction is a success or not. You might score a hit, you might not, nobody knows till you wrote your story... ^^
