Some of you asked for a tutorial about Digital Matte Painting technique.First of all I'm not a pro, I'm just an amateur.... and just wanted to share all I know..
!! This tutorial won't show you every single detail about making Digital Matte Painting technique. But it will give you some tips and some ideas...

I suggest you to use at least 1kx1k pixel stock images. That's what I do.

This tutorial is just what I was looking for! The only minor point of critique is that it isn't easy to read - a darker shade of grey for the background would help.

how do you use the gradient tool for creating skies? Great tut by the way, I will post my first go at it soon.

to create a sky, quick mask gradient tool is the best way...
just choose a base sky color (blue.. for example) then use quick mask gradient tool to add desaturated horizon line, to add sun's direction etc... that tool is really flexible.
