Description No, really. Do it. It's good for your brain.

Just a little drawing of Kaitlin kickin' back with a good story done up to help a friend of mine promote his book. This is what you call a novel idea... heh, heh... (Boooo! Hisss!)

I wonder what kind of books Kaitlin likes to read?Β

The ones with words in them.

Ah. I've read some novels before.

I love to read too. Once my brother-in-law was teasing me for liking to read because he hates it. When I told my Daddy about it, he just said to me, "Next time he makes fun of you, just tell him, 'Intelligent people read'."

That's a good comeback.
I like reading myself, but alas, I've trouble finding the time. I'm not a very fast reader, you see, and my artwork eats up most of my time.
Doesn't mean I can't advocate it, though.

Thanks.Β
I haven't had time to read as much lately either. The book I'm on right now is almost 900 pages, and I have been on it for months. I am pretty sure I am about a third done with it. Not the first time I've read a book that length.Β

900 pages, eh? Wow. That'd definitely take me months to read. What, may I ask, is it about?

IrishBeckyCartoons In reply to CalamityKangaroo [2014-12-28 20:43:46 +0000 UTC]

It basically goes through the entire history of England through the eyes of certain families. It is a historical fiction, so there are fictional characters and historical figures mixed in together. Right now in the book, it is during the 1700's, close to the days of the American Revolution. Still have a couple hundred pages to go.Β

Yep, it's called "Sarum", by Edward Rutherford. You could probably find it at your local library.

Get a lot of orders you can't do, do you?

I can certainly understand, though. It's like if somebody told me "go draw something." I'd be all like; "Okay! β™ͺ Laa-tee-dah tee-daah β™« "

Of course, then again, there's a difference between what you can't do and what's just hard to do...

Hmm that book, that sounds like a very interesting read, indeed!

Good on her, then! A love of reading is something every child should develop, and it's a real shame many don't.

And if it sounds interesting to you, then you should definitely give Jere's book a shot. He's absolutely a great writer, and I assure you the meager four bucks is more than worth it.

Eh, for Kaitlin most all reads is good reads. Most. Not Melville, though. Reading his stuff is like watching a hippopotamus shlep through molasses, except without being funny.

And what better way to help people stay addicted to their books then by opening up a coffee shop either next door or built directly into a library.

Book stores, maybe; but libraries not so much. Sounds like a good way to get coffee spilled on library books.

True, hadn't thought about that. Looks like bookworms will have to stick to drinking caffeine heavy soft drinks and coffee outside if they want their fix to stay away to read all those books.

Reading's always a good thing. With all of the other forms of entertainment out there (not that there's anything wrong with them, mind you) the joy of a good book can easily fall by the wayside.

And heeey, everyone's got their own unique flavor of weird; you're entitled to yours. ('creepish" though it may be...)

If you want to make a cartoon kangaroo of your own, then go for it! I certainly can't stake claim to kangaroos in general, after all; just my own.

Nice to see you posting again~ Β Looks great overall~ Β The only suggestion I have is for the rest of the background things (like the other books and paper and such) not have an outline like the rest of the bg. Β It'd help the character and active objects stand out more .

Yeah, I'm a pretty busy beaver these days. 'Tis a good thing, though.

To be fair, the desk et al are technically foreground, not background. Thus the lines. Plus, and you'll have to trust me on this, it was done for Facebook and the lines provide better contrast on mobile gizmos.
