[UPDATE 1st October 2023 : Decided to change the format of some Earth-ARV41 bios of Nightcrawler and Kyofu from short, teaser like bio into the longer narrative take on the bio. I also did a small retcon for Kurt's bio as well.

Update 25th December 2023 : I decided to make a quite radical change for Earth-ARV41 Nightcrawler's bio (except for his parents).]

“Born somewhere in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, Kurt Wagner is actually the illegitimate son of Mystique (Raven Darkholme) and Azazel. Abandoned by his own mother, Kurt was found by Margali Szardos, and was then raised by the at Herr Getmann's Traveling Menagerie of Munich, never legally adopted by anyone but was raised within the circus, mostly with people who had no prejudices against "freaks" save for the ringmaster, Herr Max Getmann. In the Circus, Kurt was known as the trapeze artist, the Incredible Nightcrawler, and the circus audiences assumed that he was a normal-looking human being wearing a demon-like costume.

His day in the circus has been considered a happy life by him, until one day, as he got older, Kurt's abilities drew less and less of a crowd until one day, Herr Getmann could no longer afford to keep him sedated between acts and decided to sell him. Fearing the worst, Margali worked with Armen Freilich to free Kurt. As he fled, he accidentally knocked over a torch, igniting the circus. Getmann and his men chased Kurt through the forest and were about to shoot him in the face when he teleported for the first time. He was then proceeded to go back to his hometown, Winzeldorf, and fled into the local church, and he was later discovered and welcomed by Father Wagner two days later. Turned out that the villagers of Winzeldorf were still chasing him, and as they set the fire into the Church, they almost killed Kurt before Professor X (Charles Xavier) taking control of the angry mobs' mind, programming them to remember that Kurt died in the fire.

Years later, William Stryker had managed to find a data of Kurt Wagner and his past life in the Circus. Meanwhile, in Winzeldorf, there has been a recent mass murdering by Stephan Szardos, who was also the member of the Herr Getmann's Traveling Menagerie. Angered with this news, Kurt tried to find Stephan, only to find out that Stephan has gone mad. Kurt tried to stop the rampage of Stephan, but during the struggle, Kurt accidentally broke Stephan's neck, eventually killing Stephan. Just in the right moment, Stryker's force discovered Kurt and managed to kidnap him, but once more, he was saved by Professor X as Professor X mentally paralyzed Stryker's army.

In his new ‘family’, Kurt would accepted Professor X’s offer to join the X-Men, with the condition that he had to go back to the Herr Getmann's Circus first to tell Margali about Stephan's death, only to find out that Margali wasn't there. After he was induced into the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Kurt’s swashbuckling abilities remained unique to his friends, and Kurt usually reenact some fighting scenes from the pirate movies during his training in the Danger Room. Everyone in the X-Men admired Kurt because of his witty, comedic, and sarcastic attitude. Professor X somehow thanked Kurt for his contributions to the X-Men, but Kurt is, too, a simple man. His early life in the Church has taught him one thing : nothing can beat faith. “

AUTHOR’S NOTES :

I had to do the Captarv-Verse version of the fuzzy elf himself (although he is not that fuzzy here), the Nightcrawler himself, Kurt Wagner, of Earth-ARV41!

Originally, I had an idea to draw Kurt using some inspirations from the X-Men : The Official Game version of suit for his Earth-ARV41 counterpart, but it didn’t help; as I depict Kurt as 20 years old mutant in this timeline, I had to keep it more practical for acrobatic purpose.

I decided to use the X-Men Apocalypse danger room scene (aka the ending scene) Nightcrawler suit (heck, I had to use the photo of Toys Era version of Apocalypse Nightcrawler as a reference!) as the base of Earth-ARV41 Nightcrawler’s design, but I don’t want to shed off his coat like elements, so I slaps in the MK11 past timeline Noob Saibot costume, For Honor Pirate skins, and also unused MK11 Revenant Kung Lao concept art. Definitely had to go with the unused concept art of Nightcrawler from X-Men : The Official Game done by Anthony Hon. (link here) Oh, let’s not forget his twin sabers, too!

And, as a record, I actually loved both comic book and movies version of Nightcrawler. However, I want to keep the nostalgia going for myself, hence the (actually simplified) X2 Nightcrawler face tattoos on Earth-ARV41 version of Nightcrawler’s face, and for some reasons, let’s pretend that this isn’t part of his self scarification process LOL
