Description
I drafted up where I think Four Stones and the Moon Branch should be. It is actually mostly located on WindClan territory; i figured since it is a meadow area, WindClan can use the hunting ground while the truce is not active. It made things a little complicated when we made the river run right through the corner boundaries, but I like our territories, so i think this makes sense. The Moon Branch (large piece of petrified wood) is located further down the gorge between RiverClan and WindClan in a shallow cave. The moonlight shine down on the wood, making it glow in a way. The petrified roots were revealed after a storm broke apart the gorge wall, sending the debris down river; since then, ferns and grasses grew on the ledge and the cats discovered the area as a place that they could speak with their warrior ancestors. Pioneers in the founding of the Moon Branch include Whitefoot, Feldspar, Suzie and Lakepaw. (perhaps Mistysnow's spirit leads Whitefoot there or something like that).
Anyway, what do you guys think? Feel free to make changes, draft your own or just plain throw this idea out.

I think we'll have a much better time visualizing where our characters are this time around! It's exciting. I really love the idea of doing an all day Gathering. Before they always felt so quick and we needed to get so much done in a little amount of time. This should keep the pacing more calm.

Yes! It will give us more time to interact too. Water and I will constantly be fighting on our borders, but RiverClan and WindClan are so isolated.
I love doing all the world building we're doing for this one ^^

I like it! Nice placing. plus an open and large enough area for the clans to gather for the whole day!
Hey, since the entire clan can't always come, should we make a tradition of some kind for who takes care of the camp and those who must stay while everyone's gone?

Sure! Why not? I think that the members that stay behind could have clan bonding time of their own ^^

Yeah! They definitely could. (I feel like its important to hammer these things out ahead of time lol. Traditions are a huge part of the setting.)

This is true. Last time we focused on the storyline more than anything; it was fun enough, but I really like making it up as we go with a great setting. I want our traditions and scenery to be perfect because that's something we seem to struggle with while writing. I do so much dialogue that its hard to know where the characters are. (I like dialogue more than anything else lol)

Lol, that's actually where I've struggled to fit in with this website! I'm such a descriptive writer; I always feel like I have to explain everything. It's been good for me to try and focus more on dialogue, but it IS nice to have the setting down so we can write about our own areas more comfortably. This next story just gets better and better as we go!
I've seriously typed pages of just description... It's also why I struggle to write formal papers. I don't analyze. I just describe lol.

I am an analyzer lol. I did so awesome in all my humanities classes. It's funny because I'm going for Geology, so I probably won't have to do more than describe stuff later on
I have pages of maps and drawings of settings; I am so visual. ^^'

I learn by doing and hearing mostly. I'm always thinking about the right way to describe things so others understand. That's why I like vocabulary I guess. I'm going for medical though, so I guess I won't really be writing that much lol. I guess words are important though for charts and such... I DO eventually want to write a novel though. If I need a map for that, can I ask you? (with a rough draft on my side lol)
It's always really cool to talk to you about this kind of stuff because I can get a different perspective that I don't get on a daily basis. I love seeing from other points of view.

I work in military medical right now: public health. It's interesting enough, but its really different in the civilian world i guess. We don't really do too much, but i never have to write anything lol. I loves me some science and rocks though.
I have started so many stories, but I always get caught up drawing things for them instead of writing lol. I love doing maps! That would be a super fun project; fantasy maps are my favorite, so i'd love to!
Same here. different learning styles and different perspectives ^^

My mom is a doctor and so was my father, so it sort of runs in the family. I want to write a book for the same reason I want to become a doctor, I want to help people. The warriors series helped me escape and cope with my father's death, so if a novel I write does the same for just one person, I would achieve my goal. I don't particularly know what kind of doctor I want to be, but there's always a certain amount of descriptions needed for like "the wound is here" or "his skin looks like xyz." My mom mentioned to a coworker that my brother's skin was looking yellow, and they sort of figured out from there (with a small measurement) that his blood oxygen percentage thing was low. I mean, describing can be a powerful thing in the medical field I would think. Plus I also just love science. Let me solve 20 physics problems any day over a 7 page paper lol. I really enjoyed chemistry too once I got the rules memorized. That's one thing I hate: memorization. What about you? Favorite science? (I guess geology is a very solid answer for that. But I don't know too much about it. what's your favorite part of it?)
I could send you a note with my story idea for now. I mostly need help making their world complete. Then I feel like I can write the story. That's what my teachers kept telling me lol. Since I don't know what message I want to send, I need to complete the setting in order to REALLY start writing.

I know how that is! Warriors, this site and the rpg is particular helped me through the same situation. I was 17 when my dad died and we used all of our college money for medical bills, so I would write on here and I would play Zelda lol. Medical is a great place to help people; I am just so pleased with my doc and the cancer staff they have me with. They are heroes ^^
I have not had a chance to take chem or physics yet, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I love rocks! I took a geology class before i joined the air force; i just took it because it looked interesting, but it turned out to be the most fulfilling class ever and i learned i had a real passion for minerals and geological features (you'll see a lot of them in my maps lol). I also really like ecology and biology, but not the small stuff like cells and things, i like the animal behavior stuff. I almost went for marine biology... I might still do marine geology. It was my idea to put our warriors next to the ocean too
I had a few stories in which the message was always be happy with who you are and work hard for your achievements. 'Balance' was one of them: it followed a wolf who was to race against the animals of other tribes. There were a lot of fantasy elements and native american style imagery. The point was that the wolf was average and had no special talents, so he relied on hard work to win. it's been a scrapped idea for years... but I might return to it at some point.
Sounds like fun, go ahead and send it!

Haha. I think it's cool to have them on the ocean. It's a place they haven't been before and gave us a lot of cool things to do. I'm with you on the biology part. I hate the cells, I love the behavior part. So many different sciences lol. Physics is great because you can go as deep or shallow as you want to into the minutia of the problem. And there is almost always at least 2 ways to solve a problem.
That one sounds great! You could at least make a children's book out of it that's got one of those messages along with team work.

My last event will either involve Shingle getting an apprentice (cause Ring is already thinking of making her deputy) or Horizon's decision to stay after she'd gone around to say good-bye to her friends in the other clans. Not really sure which yet.

I might do something with Suzie too... But probably not. I think she'll approach Indigo about staying when she begins to really be attached to her kit and Lucy's kits. Indigo would probably then ask the other medicine cats of her whole kit situation is an issue for her becoming ShadowClan's medicine cat. Dawnfade would take over their main care when they get to the new territory.

I need to finish more ShadowClan set-up before we get the story started. If you're finished in TC, I would love some ideas on relationships between Oak, Shale, and their parents. I just want to actually know everyone's personality before we go in. It'll help when I want to choose who's doing what later and who's the angry ones and etc etc. Rowanfang is going to be a favorite side character of mine. I call her 'sass cat' right now in all my notes. XD

CaptainMorwen In reply to TheNameIsWater-Wea [2015-06-04 16:10:24 +0000 UTC]
Not quite finished, there is always stuff to add, but I'd love to help!
Oak is an arrogant punk who thinks he is elite because he is actually very good at fighting. Shale is super sweet; she takes so much pleasure in gatherings because everyone is at peace; she hardly ever agrees with Palestar and Dragonstar's need to fight, but she would never say it because she is so passive.
Relationships: I think that Pinelegs was a stern, but sweet mother to her kits and Briarfoot was often interested in them as well. So, loving parents in general. I want the kits to be mostly undamaged by any tragedies so they can be strong foils/side characters for Stonepaw and Palestar. Oak and Shale are rather close, even if their personalities are opposite; they often train together when they can and share tongues; Oak will get jealous of Stone quite a bit and he will be very protective of his sister. They squabble every now and then because Shale, meek as she is, doesn't need protection, damn it!
I think Oak should be kind of a momma's boy; he and his mother have a similar appearance, so they should have a similar temperament; for example, he would blame something in Stone and Pine would tell Palestar, Stonepaw gets punished... etc. Perhaps Pine and Rowan are good friends then too lol.
I think Briar should be a sweeter guy and Shale takes more after him. There are often a lack of sweet characters in ShadowClan. Perhaps he sort of stands up against fighting to take a more civil route. Briar and Pine would be the parents that are constantly arguing, but at the end of the day, they are a team.
Oakpaw's friends would be the rowdier apprentices and he acts as kind of a leader (that way they can torment Stonepaw a lot and they have a reason why)
Shalepaw likes to hang out with the elders and listen to stories. She thinks that hunting skills are of the utmost importance because the clan needs to be fed more than fighting battles.

I love it! Thank you!
Those roles for the parents make sense to me. Briar looks a lot like Shale believe it or not. I was going to have it so Blacksnake (who you just saw born) has the clouded leopard look to him and that's why they name him after a snake with the big spots to him. So it will be a sort of polar opposite family both ways. XD This is going to be a fun family to play, especially since they're all together in the end each day.
Speckledpaw will be a big admirer then. The other two apprentices belong to Blue so I won't touch on them. Speckled might try to earn Oak's approval a lot since he's sort of like the leader of the apprentices. She's one of the rogues taken in like Russetpelt so she's naturally not very trusted even though she's spunky and sweet deep down. She'd probably really want to be friends with Shale, but would be too intimidated by Oak to try lol.

Yeah, probably. Do you think Shale and Fawn (stone's sister) might have been friends before? Or would Fawn have just admired her? (Fawn would have been timid but sweet, quite a lot like Shale but less good with words)

CaptainMorwen In reply to TheNameIsWater-Wea [2015-06-04 21:30:28 +0000 UTC]
Probably friends. Are Oak and Shale the oldest apprentices? That would make sense for both situations i think.

TheNameIsWater-Wea In reply to CaptainMorwen [2015-06-04 22:25:36 +0000 UTC]
Not quite. I think Icepaw is the oldest apprentice. Actually, I'd rather make him a warrior soon unless there's some thing where he's behind in training somehow or isn't getting something right. Frostbite is just TOO old to have a kit only one year old. She would have died in kitting. So Icepaw's the oldest. I think the age order goes Icepaw, Speckledpaw (only because she came as a rogue), Oakpaw, Shalepaw, Badgerpaw, Stonepaw. Oak and Shale would be performing the best of them all though so even though they're the middle children, they're getting the most positive attention. Oak would probably be getting a little more attention than most from Palestar too since her brother is training him and she's hanging out with him more lately.
