Realistic Mau cat! It is loosely based on a reference, but I tend to go my own direction whether I want to or not, so the pose is slightly different and the colors are certainly different. I'll post this again once my scanner works... probably. ***EDIT*** New scanner! so now it is updated; my phone actually didn't do too bad of a job, but the scan is cleaner.This is my 500th traditional art animal that I have posted in my gallery. Kitty! :3

Hey! Obviously I love this, I have a few small critiques:
It seems that Dragon's neck might be a LITTLE bit too thin.
The nose bridge looks a little weird... Since I assume you used a picture of an egyptian mau as your reference (or some other oriental cat), I believe this is because the reference cat has a straight nose bridge with little to no bend. The lack of bend makes it so you don't see the entirety of the cat's left eye, unlike in your usual drawings. Something between the fur direction and the way you shaded makes it seem the bridge bends drastically and thus makes the eye and bridge both look a little bit out of place.
My final, and much smaller critique, is I wish there was a little more texture in the actual nose. Such rich fur texture, it'd be nice to see you try to stipple or draw little dots to help create that slightly bumpy nose. But then again, you definitely know better what the texture of a kitty nose is like lol.
Anyway, awesome work! You've definitely proved that realism is not a problem for you.

Yeah, I'm a bit rusty on drawing from pictures. It's really much easier to draw from life... but I can't get the cats to sit still long enough lol.
I will add some stippling to her noser and see how it looks. Maybe a very light color... I am still working with colors too; I'm much better at black and white. I have only been to Drawing 1 in college so I never got the color theory course. Self teaching is okay, but I feel like I'm missing an actual grasp of it in some way. Gotta get back to school so I can get these classes :3

To which I replied, "Well... I actually AM good at art you know... I just like drawing cartoons normally lol." XD

YES! School time and learning! I've gotta get back in it too. Self-teaching can only get you so far, regardless of how much fun experiments are. You just sort of get to the same endpoint a lot faster when in a class.

I draw so many cats! I used to be a more popular wolf artist, but once I realized that I was only doing it because other people liked it so much, I started drawing my warriors trash lol! (which is not to say I don't like drawing wolves; I do! Just not for popularity)

I have to say it's been nice to be recognized, but a lot of people started watching me because of the Horizon comic but I never ended up liking how it started and I wasn't about to finish it. I lost a lot of watchers telling them that I wouldn't be continuing that for a long time to come.

People like comics! I want to do more comics, but I always end in flames because I try to do it digitally. I'll be doing traditional if I can. I'd really like to do Nuzlocke comics

Ohh okay lol. If you're drawing something unfamiliar, I'd recommend going back to super basics. Like blocking the picture and your paper sort of stuff. I always like to crop my ref to have the same dimensions as my paper and then print it and fold/sketch the lines along the half way marks. But that's just me.
