Description
In 2373, the Federation, Klingons, Ferangi and Romulans where in all out war with the Dominion and their allies. This meant that older ships where forced into early major refits like the Ambassador-class, which was equipped with the stronger hulls, shields and weapons and families where no longer allowed to be brought on board with active duty personnel.As the war progressed, Starfleet Operation began a second extended run of the Ambassador-class with the new upgrades and hull configuration as the alliance was taking heavy losses. These newer ships where called Mk. II's and where designed a multi mission support vessel.
