Description
The Steampunk Class Destroyer is a crossover design by me.Normally I do crossovers for my page view mile stones. But I loved this one so much I couldn't wait that long.
Don't ask me about the physics of steam powered starships. I couldn't tell you...Besides...This is "a just for fun" design. Though it IS based off of the TOS Saladin/Hermes
A side note. The American flag is accurate. In 1888, the flag officialy only had 38 stars

Of all my works, this is the one you comment on? LOL. I have so many Steampunk friends, I just had to do this crossover.

Dangit I wish we'd had some of these. By now who knows what we'd have, and seeing as how space-based operations are done by the US Air Force, I could have worked on them

Actually I technically just started. When I wrote that comment I was still a cadet, but now I'm a full-fledged second lieutenant. And cool, be sure to pass along my thanks for his service.

No kidding. I did it up, after I noticed just how many of my friends were into Steampunk.

It's based off of crossing the Steampunk genre with Star Trek. The ship itself is based off of the TOS era Saladin/Hermes Class Destroyer/Scout. If there's a comic with a Steampunk/Star Trek theme, I haven't seen it.

I love doing cross-overs. Was getting close to the next mile stone, and drew it up...But couldn't contain myself long enough.

She looks good.
Almost makes me wonder how the old "NX" would look like that

"Don't ask me about the physics of steam powered starships."
The Electrogravitonic Funnel draws in the aether and passes it through the Supercompressing Excitor, forcing out a stream of hyper-energetic aether out the back of the engine nacelle, attaining speed undreamt of. It does use a lot of coal, though.
The turrets look a bit WW2 Kriegsmarine to me, but otherwise quite cool.

Wow...Well said. And good eye on the deck guns. I based them off of the ones on the battleship Bismarck. About 60 years off. But I liked the look.

Technobabble - Aether Trek style!
The exposed cables and piping really make the piece. And, of course, the rivets!
