An other Kinnikuman illustration. (April)Inspired by the episode "Farewell, Brocken Burns Out".
Pretty much Brocken Jr.'s part in the 6 man battle with his partners Ataru Kinniku and Buffaloman, versus Prisman, Mammothman and Kinnikuman Super Phoenix.

What I never understood is why is Brocken Jr. Blue Grey in Kinnikuman but has a norman skintone in Kinnikuman Nisei?

I think it was just the animated version being weird. If I recall correctly in the manga Brocken Jr. also had a normal skin tone. Same goes for Robin Mask who for some reason was blue in the show.

If I remember correctly the blue was some kind of bodysuit that Robin wore in the anime as he still has a normal skin tone when he removes his armor and such... Still confusing as hell though. At any rate good job on this pic, always glad to see Berlin's Red Rain getting some love.

I love this series and Brocken especially! None of the deaths are meaningless in Kinnikuman and they serve to show just how awesome everyone is! Brocken may not have gotten much screen time, but when he did, it was great!

But I agree with Brocken. Taking a beating while in human form definitely awarded him some massive respect points in the end.

Yes it was a shame, but damn, did he held the fort for the team. Even going as far as turning human and taking a beating.

The Choujin Blood Brigade was a very great team. Especially with Brocken Jr and Buffaloman in the group. But Ashuraman and The Ninja were awesome as well.
Ataru had quite the kickass team there.

Oh yes he did assemble quite a badass group. Have you ever seen the manga cover artwork with Ataru, Brocken and Buffaloman packing bazookas, machineguns and such, its pretty badass. (at least imo)
Anyhow yeah, shame the Ninja did SO bad, although I was never too big a fan of him. Also I honestly think Ashuraman should have defeated Satan Cross.

An end that built up even more tension between Suguru and Phoenix, but one that was sad for me...

The way that fight ends, if you ask me, was pretty terrible but somewhat fitting for the whole theme behind that arc. It was just so gritty at times!
