sometimes, i paint from family, client, or friends photo's. but i am alergic so i admire kitties only from afar... have painted enough that i often paint from memory.

honestly... when i first started painting cats, i couldn't paint one from memory to save my life, and even painting them from photo's they often looked pretty
i really feel painting is like anything and simply takes practice, more than talent, or anything else, and actually the right brushes even more than anything else, i am lost without mine!!!

Well, you are special. Not everyone can do what you do. In fact, no one can duplicate what you've done. It's completely unique! But I do agree that art, like anythng else, becomes much better with practice. I've gotten better in some things, too. I've been working with digi art and photography for about 2 years now, so I still have a lot to learn.

I agree. Both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are HARD. It took me a very long time to even get to a "beginner's level." I am pretty good with other softwares (spreadsheets, wordprocessing, etc.), but these two had me knocked for a loop. I went and bought some tutorials (books) to get past the really hard stuff. I'm still learning Photoshop, and there's enough to keep me busy for the rest of my life!

i just use my old print shop10 and photo impression since they are simple and all i know to try really! i may check into the ones you've named here too sometime!

Well, if you decide to get Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop, and need advice, I can help maybe! I would very much encourage you to get a book on the subject. THere are books for sale that are great for both softwares. You can buy them used via Amazon. Paint Shop Pro is around $100; Photoshop is more, and depending on how fancy you want to get, can run all the way up to $650.
