Took a while to find this lass. We had a really good guide though, he took us a long long way off the beaten track, and even off any kind of track.This is a female leopard. Leopards are nocturnal hunters, and both hunt from, and sleep in trees. I'm trying to limit what I say though as I'm no zoologist, and will probably get things wrong.
I do know though, that leopards are actually the most numerous of the big cats in the Serengeti, but the most difficult to find. We were lucky to get this close.

I agree with you that you were lucky to find her. We went on honeymoon there and spent a lot of time on safari, searching to see a leopard. The closest we got to one was being just close enough to make it out by its tail hanging down. There were too many drivers around for us to go any closer. That was our only disappointment - the rest of the animals were very obliging and we even saw a cheetah make a kill, but the leopards stayed stubbornly hidden.
This is a beautiful shot.
