Hooley Schmooley... I saw the faint halo smudges around the top edge of the shell and thought "Hmmm... that's a bit of a clumsy isolation of the image... but look at the detail around the top wrinkles - the edge was selected perfectly... Whaaaa? It's not a photo?" I thought you had Photoshopped the background out of a photo

the edges in this oil was painted with a very thin filbert brush, and i did a sharp effect because it helps to detach the object from the background in this particular case.
