Description
Some pencil sketches from my leather-bound notebook. These are from some work that I was to do for some Indiana Jones children's picture story books for Lucas Arts around the time of Crystal Skull. The project never went anywhere and I don't really know the details other than the books never came about. I was told by my agent about the job and asked to sketch up some of the characters from Raiders.
So. This is how Indy and Salah would've looked. I was going with the top right Indy.

These are so cool, the likeness is top notch, and in your style it just looks so incredibly cool. I wish the project would have gone through, it would have been amazing!

I blame George Lucas. Fat old flannel-wearing ponce! Thanks for the compliments though, bud.

I like these sketches. The lineart and the shadows in particular.

I think you really nailed his look in the top right one! Great expression.
Pity that this didn't work out. (And a pity that Crystal Skull is soooo bad, dammit)

Ah, it's not that bad. If you ignore Mutt and the Aliens etc...
Cheers, bud. I was really looking forward to doing it too. I thought I had a good chance of doing something very different with it. With backgrounds like these >>> [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

Would have looked great for sure (and fun to do I imagine).
And you're right about Mutt, the Aliens and etc... and sure, the movie got its good points, Ray Winston for instance (good old Will Scarlet in Robin of Sherwood)

And the film looked beautiful. I just wish they hadn't side-lined Indy so much. I think next he should be on his own, no Mutt, or with Salah and be fighting against Nazis hiding in South America and the Deep South of America with a Nazi zombie army etc...

Aye, zombies would have been better than aliens
Did you ever play the old Indie adventure games (like [link] )? The Atlantis one had quite a good story and characters. Could have made a good basis for a movie actually.

Nah. Never been a big game player beyond Super Mario 3 on the SNES.

That's just this job for ya. Some go through, some don't. It would've been bloody good fun though.
