Description The final colours for the previously posted rough. Would've liked to add more foliage but pushed for time.

On a side note, I know some don't like the blue light for the sake of blue light, but this one has a reason. They're being attacked by an ethereal forest spirit that they can't see but has been established earlier in the story that it gives off a blue green glow.

Cheers, bud. I wanted to get it a little grungier than the usual kiddie's fare. Only so far you can go though.

It's hard to be tough guy, especially in children book - there is always some kind of forest spirits or bunch of fairies, that would like to beat you up. At least it's not an Evil Dead-alike forest spirit, so they can consider themselves as lucky.
Great characters, awesome work.

Too right. That's why I like Captain Hook. Motherfucker was a boss. IS a boss. He survives being swallowed by a crocodile and returns in the official sequel Peter Pan In Scarlet.

This forest spirit is pretty cool though. He's a caribbean folk legend called Papa Bois. Kind of an African version of the British green man. Big leaf-covered bloke with antlers and a mean temper when it comes to botanic-bollocks.

Nice colours! Is this for a personal project? It looks way more hardcore than your usual subjects!

Amazingly, no. This is for a children's book for Pearson. These two characters are the villains of the piece so I could get away with this. They're supposed to be Trinidadian poachers. Ex-army guys. I'm glad they let me get this far. I added the tats and scars and the knife belt with no visible knifes. The rest was by request. Had to get rid of the original skull tattoo, but think they may let me get away with the Luchador.

Cool, it needs that gritty realism to really be effective. Looking forward to seeing more of it.

Oh, that's not allowed in kids books these days. I fucking kid you not, not too long ago I drew some kids looking into a boating lake and was asked to draw railings around it so the reader doesn't think the kids may fall in...

What the hell do you even say to that utter pig shit?

Just draw one of them impaled on the railings
