It's always a fantasy to do that, sadly it is a tall order. I have attempted it several times in a similar predicament, but it's impossible to sleep! Been fun trying though

Both. What makes it impossible is the permanent state of arousal with the struggling against the ropes, along with the inevitable discomfort. As soon as you wear yourself out, you rest and start drifting off, your energy returns and you get worked up again. It's a constant dance along the edge which is both frustrating and exciting when you get the balance right

..hhmm.. as the ropes and the tube makes the sleeping impossible because of the constant struggling.. maybe if the victim having difficulty of falling asleep the normal way, this might become a solution for sure.. struggling several hours like this and for that reason getting totally tired and as finally let out, the sleep would be needed at once.. and the dreams after this kind of a treatment would surely be worth of having.. I´d most possibly be having hot dreams of bondage and graving this treatment night after night..
