Doesn't the High Commission know that it's a bad idea to alter history? Imagine if they got into trouble with Father Time for their attempt to "save" Mewni!

they saw it as a sort of 'last resort' and yeah, it's an awful idea but they felt cornered knowing just how badly they fucked up except instead of owning it they blamed Eclipsa and if they took any blame it was not having a tighter leash on her.
Father Time isn't happy but the combined powers of the High Commission outdo him - so he's just biding his time for now. Glossaryck could undo this all with a snap of the fingers but he's absolutely without a side in this whole thing. Well, he knows who's going to win out so he's just letting it play out.
