Description
Referred to as he/they, Mortigus is an almost unique individual. A fungi bipedal creature, with his sentience and wits left. The name is a combination of mortiferium, latin for mortal, and fungus, for mushroom. The cape is out of moss. Part of the : No One's Tower fictional story.

   General info: Born during the Great Plague in a Polish village, Mortigus used to be a normal human, a kid to be exact. While his farmer family was already struggling to survive, the Black Plague hit him and his older siblings, bringing despair to their parents. After his big sister succumbed to the disease in only a week after catching it, the Plague Doctor Clan appeared in the grounds of the farm. With mystery enveloping them, the Doctors started "treating " Mortigus and his siblings.
Unfortunately, only Mortigus was still alived by the end of the year. However, the Plague didn't leave him, so the Doctors got curious and promised the parents that, if they let them take the kid to the larger lab in the city, they would cure him. With this new hope, the parents accepted and Mortigus went for the first time in the city. No matter how sick he was, he couldn't help but smile entering this unknown place of unimaginable grandeur. Mortigus' life derails at this point, as the Doctors reveal their true intention: inside the putrid-smelling laboratory, the mysterious figures started experimenting on the boy. The doctors found a species of fungi resistant to the plague and forced it onto the kid's body, creating a symbiotic relationship between the fungi and Mortigus' metabolism. More plants grew on him after that, removing his human appearance step by step, covering his skin and eyes and fighting against his subconscious. The Doctors, however, made sure he retained some parts of his memory and sanity, thus Mortigus survived the transformation and became the paranormal creature he still is.
Already 150 years old, Mortigus doesn't age like a human anymore, his mind being the only to mature. With the Doctors that made him dead, he wanders the scorched land of Europe trying to survive and find a meaning in his new form and life. He never got to see his parents again, too afraid to show his unfamiliar face to them, too afraid to break their hearts with the monster their last son became. "It's better for them to think I'm already burried. " is what he thought.
  Abilities: His abilities divide in three branches
-> Fungi manipulation: He can grow and control fungi, creating even walls of mushroom and leaving fluorescent mushrooms behind him. He can also use these as poisonous or hallucinogenic shrooms, but also zombie-mushrooms (they have a weak convincing power so they work on weakened beasts only). His hat creates some shade needed for him to use these abilities.
-> Flexible body: His sponge-like body is far more flexible than the most flexible human and can receive more punishment too (pain endurance resulted from the Doctors' awful tests). his strength is also augmented a bit. Healing is extremely fast in humid areas too.
