He sits on his bed and plays with a necklace he kept hidden beneath his clothing. The necklace you had given him in secret.
"What's this?"
You shrugged with the most adorable, yet mischievous smile on your face, "Open it and you'll see."
He did as you said and a smile crept across his face as well. "Wow. Thank you, but," he looked up at your face, "what's this for?"
You shrugged once more, "I don't know. Think of it as a token of my love." You turned around and walked away, leaving him slightly baffled.

"I love you, Lavi." You said, happily.
"What God looked down upon me and blessed me with your love?" Lavi asked, holding you in his arms.
You look up at him and smile, "The good one."
He chuckled and kissed your lips. "Well, I'd hate to know what would have happened if the bad one had been looking down on me the day we met."
"I would have punched you in the face and laughed."
He laughed nervously, "Well, you did punch me in the face."
"On accident."
He laughed and kissed your nose, "I know."

He watched. All he could do was watch and listen. Watch as finders cried over their lost comrades. Listened as Reever read off the list of dead exorcists.
"From the Teidoll group: Daisya Barry; _______ _______."
A pang ran through Lavi's heart and his stomach felt as if he swallowed a stone.
'No. Remember. You can't. It wasn't even supposed to happen.'
But it did.

He would purposely find more time to spend alone, away from everyone around him. Being alone meant he didn't have to hide himself anymore. He didn't have to play to smart-ass or the happy-go-lucky dumbass that got on Kanda's nerves. He could stop and be absorbed into the pain he wanted to let out. He knew taking his chances and being with you would be a bad idea. A bad idea but not one he regretted. The only thing about it he regretted was not saying that he loved you. All the time the two of you had spent together, but not one 'I love you' was said from him.

His hands, bound. His legs, bound. He was still bound to the same chair that he was bound to yesterday. And the day before. And the day before that. He had lost count of how many days had gone by after he began passing out at random intervals. He lifted his head slightly, though was still unable to see into the dark room. He sighed and dropped his head. A hand gently lifted his chin back up. The hand startled him and he threw his head up. Heart racing and head pounding, he looked around but saw no one. He squinted his eyes, but to no avail.
The hand, to him felt so familiar, yet so foreign.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, instantly regretting it. The pain in his ribs shot through his body. A hand rested on his shoulder. His eyes shot back open and he slowly looked up to find your beautiful face smiling down at him.
"__-_______?" His voice was quiet and raspy.
You didn't say anything, but your hand raised and brushed the hair out of his face.
"_______!" A tear slid down his face as he watched you straighten, mouth moving and forming inaudible words, and disappear right before his eyes. "No! Don't go!"

He tried to stay awake. Tried so hard, just to see if you would show yourself once more to him. He wanted to see your face again. To have your hand brush through his hair again. Most of all, he wanted to hear what you had to say. More unknown time passed. Torturous sessions passed as well, leaving him even more beat than before. As if hearing his prayers for you, you showed once more. This time with a sad expression on your face. You looked him over with tears in your eyes.

You moved towards him and brushed his hair out of his face again, this time, letting your hand linger on the side of his face. He pressed his cheek into your palm and felt the slightest warmth. Your hand disappeared from his face and he looked up at you. The tears that had welled, had now begun to fall as you wrapped your arms around his neck and whispered something he could not hear.
