Description
Before using please read my terms of use: [link] . You must credit me. I would love to see how you use this.Unlike other aquatic birds, Anhingas lack the oils to waterproof their feathers. So they have to bask to dry out before they can fly after a dive. They are also called snakebirds, since they're swim with just their head and neck sticking out of the water. Basically they're a freshwater version of cormorants.
****EDIT****
I'M SO EXCITED. I never thought I would get a Daily Deviation!!!! Thanks for all the support, favorites, and comments. A big thanks to PirateLotus Stock for the suggestion. I'd thank ya'll individually, but I tried and DA thought I was a spambot -_-.

I was lucky! I didn't know if he'd fly away right away, but I got about 4 feet away from him.

You would almost be equally lucky if he had tried to fly away! If their wings haven't dried out enough, they tend to skip across the water like a stone!

I know that Ahingas are pretty common where I live so I see them all the time drying out. I thought I put something in the description about that. Maybe I didn't. Hmm, I might add that. Thanks for reminding me about that!
