A very, VERY early work in progress to show you the different stages of a drawing and how it's coming together
This portrait of Matt Smith (a.k.a. the Eleventh Doctor) on A3 size is commissioned by ~trinityknot
who also requested to post WIP scans of the drawing on deviantART.I am not done with shading his face yet, but will continue after I finished drawing the hair. That way I can judge how much more (or less) contrast and shading his facial features need.

How long do you work on it each day? I'm not trying to be nosy, I'm just really curious about how long things take people, as I have no frame of reference.

That's ok!
It's hard to give an answer though. Sometimes I don't draw for days. And other times I draw 8 hours on a day, several days long!
It really depends on when inspiration strikes me (:
