Description
Moving closer to the morning sky,
traveling to the shore and
leaving behind all that I knew before;
winter frosted fields glisten
beneath the Mid-West sun,
warming their dried skin
in an effort to wave farewell
as bare-branched trees
sway their limbs with
the chilling breeze,
uttering their last goodbyes...

Maybe the ice-blue sky
will be a robin-egg shade
and the warm breath of spring
will be whispering: "wake up"
to all things green,
reviving them from a dormant sleep
when, at last, I return...
