Description
Jewel of Diversion visually describes turmoil of desperate ideas forming as one. Abstract and Surreal. from the Jewel head flows tears and knots of troubled vascular tubes, meeting the speeding subways of tears screaming with people hanging on.The jewel is symbolism, and can be interpreted in many ways. To me it represents the Nuclear plant in Japan, the knotted vascular represents the radioactive steam vented from the reactors, and the Jewel is the reactor. The tears for the tsunami lost and destruction. My heart goes out to you my Japanese friends for your loss of home and loved ones.
Jewel is a 9"x12" black ballpoint ink and watercolor. My scanner only covers 8.5x11 so there is some missing, but you get the picture. I painted this just a week before the events in Japan.

Haha, I loved the Funkadelics. They always had a cool sound and good cover art. This one I was just free drawing, and this jewel came up. Thus the name.
