My snake Nicodemus as a quetzal, as I've not drawn him yet nor have I drawn a decent quetzal lately. Nice doo.---
Quick crappy painting. I promise, gawd, *someday* I'll do actual non-sucky scales. Reptilian gods, smite me now.
10 1/2"x13" watercolor and some India ink I don't use ever.

Heheh, he's getting big now! Gotta get him a bigger cage soon. Was around 2 foot long at one year old. I'm used to being able to handle him iwth one hand, barely can anymore! XD

Technically speaking, that would be a quetzalcoatl.
This is a quetzal (Pharomachrus moccino), the most famous member of the trogon family.

I know what Quetzalcoatl is as opposed to quetzal the Guatamalan unit of money. I just call winged-snakes "quetzals" as a kind of generic name, as well as to distnguish them from the deity.
