hehe yep!
The class is really a lot of fun!
We just finished up making racecars,
and next up we're working on modeling fancy-smancy desk chairs (I'm making mine based on a dragon of course; I'll be sure to upload it when it's done)
and in the room for the class, someone's Mewtwo model is hanging up on the wall!
When are you planning to take that course anyway?

We use this computer program called AutoDesk 3DS Max, which lets you create shapes and edit them to your liking to make whatever you want to design.
What I ended up doing for most of the chess pieces here is tracing their 2-d outline from a reference picture (on the computer) and then using this tool that makes the closed figure circle all the way around in a 3D manner (if that makes sense) of course, I couldn,t do that with the knights, because they're not the same on each side, so they were a compleate pain to try to get right.

i really like how it turned out. they kinda look like astral stuff from a video game [link]
(atleast the ones on the right lol)
sounds kinda complicated lol.

Yes, it's a bit complicated, but we had step by step video tutorials from our teacher to get us started, and it's not like I made this whole thing in a single day. I think it took around two weeks (because I kept messing up the knight XD)

my computer programing class is a bit complex too but it's not so hard as the projects take forever. so far the most complex thing I've made is a game of 21 (like the card game) and I'm not even done with that yet cause i just started today. I'm sure if i tried to explain that I'd be just as confusing as you trying to explain this to me

XD
Yeah, but it just sounds really hard. For the most part, it's a lot of fun to do and doesn't feel like work or the sort of thing you'd have to do at school

When my teacher gave me a poster-size print of the picture, I ended up carrying it around with me all day (I have the class 2nd hour and I only stop by my locker before and after school), which wouldn't have been weird if everyone at my school hadn't kept complementing me on how amazing my "photography" skills are XD
So yes, almost everyone who has seen this picture thought it was real

which is good
if it looks real
that means it look realistic
....
on the computer it's easier to tell it's fake though

Indeed.
I love the program I used for this,
but if I was to buy it for use outside of school
it costs something like $3,000
Why can't people make more cost-effective programs

Indeed...
I think they could probably turn a reasonably decent profit by charging a third of the price, but they're just power and money hungry people like pretty much the rest of this screwed up society we live in.
