Description
Here it is, as promised.Yes, I have a tablet. Yes, this should work with any version of Photoshop even though I used 7. Yes, I did it totally on the computer, but you can scan a sketch/ink and apply the same methods.
I think that covers everything...but probably not.

Well there's no command for it. You have to paint it yourself.

Thanks for the lesson Celesse, Now I am a traditional artist and I've been keen to do digital art (I use Paintshop) but I am very base-tones (no shades or highlights) and you made it easy for me to understand.

Just a small tip. Since you're doing this as a zip file, there's no need worry about file size nessarily. JPGs would have been a better choice, and less crappy in quality. Butm, other then that, not too shabby, dude.

How exactly did you colour the lineart again? I mean, they're all connected. How can the face which is connected with the girl's hair have different darker shade colour?

celesse In reply to reality7068 [2010-08-03 19:25:59 +0000 UTC]
The line art is on a different layer, so it can be colored over without touching the other stuff.

reality7068 In reply to celesse [2010-08-04 11:47:21 +0000 UTC]
So, I must create another layer then I redo the lines with the shading colour I want? (Sorry,I'm REALLY confused..)

celesse In reply to reality7068 [2010-08-04 21:45:59 +0000 UTC]
You should have had the ink lines on a seperate layer to begin with. Then all you have to do is lock the layer as described in the tutorial and color them.

I know about that but I'm just confused that the WHOLE lineart is on a diff. layer, yet, on another layer PARTS of the lineart are of a DIFF. colour...

I use the paintbrush and carefully color different parts of the line art different colors.

reality7068 In reply to celesse [2010-08-06 15:02:54 +0000 UTC]
So we just have to repaint it? But, doesn't that makes it troublesome without using the paint bucket?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
celesse In reply to reality7068 [2010-08-07 21:51:22 +0000 UTC]
If you use the paint bucket it will fill all of it and you won't be able to pick out which lines you want to be certain colors.

In short, if you want different colors in one lineart, you can't use the paint bucket.
