Description Here it is, as promised.

Yes, I have a tablet. Yes, this should work with any version of Photoshop even though I used 7. Yes, I did it totally on the computer, but you can scan a sketch/ink and apply the same methods.

I think that covers everything...but probably not.

Shading is so annoying, I can never figure out what parts to shade and which not. That's why I usually don't bother with it. There's also not really a trick to it.

But good tutorial

I FAIL at Photoshop "drawing" so this is going to halp LOTS, i'll post the picture, and link it to you if you would like to see it

I have a tablet, so it should go nicely!

(If I do photography, and fail at drawing on the computer -besides pixel art - do I have a Tablet for??? XD)

Nice tutorial

I just have one question. How do you pick the darker color to shade with? Thats really the problem I'm having.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

celesse In reply to Navalius [2009-07-02 19:31:21 +0000 UTC]

I just pick what I think looks good I've been told I have a really good sense for color. I know that doesn't help you.. sorry @__@;;

Navalius In reply to celesse [2009-07-02 21:41:42 +0000 UTC]

Lol, thanks

My problem is that I don't really know what looks good. Ah well, I'll work it out

Kawaii5Kitsune In reply to Navalius [2009-08-02 00:52:51 +0000 UTC]

If I can help at all, after you pick the main color, I usually go diagonally towards the sides with black and (let's say green). Go however many shades you want far. This gets you a good in-between color.
Depending on the situation, turning more to the black or (green) side will give you a different effect.
More towards the (green): Makes it cleaner looking, but a little bit less natural. Make the picture look brighter.
Towards the black: Makes it either pastel-y or more dirty. Not so bright.

Either way, I suggest staying in between.

And I hope I answered your question correctly. Sorry if I misunderstood you. I have a habit of that. D:

Thanks

Yeah, I found after looking at a few tutorials and experimenting myself that I was doing just that.

Thanks
