About a month ago, I took a screenshot of a rather amusing headline of an article (Article title for those who are too lazy to click:"Tom Jones' lovechild son is homeless and living on the streets")on the start page of my phone browser, promptly forgot about it, and found it again today while browsing through screenshots. I decided to create this poster featuring Scout, because I found the “coincidence” to be humorous with all the events in the TF2 comics and whatnot. Mind you, I didn’t bother reading the article back then; I just saw the headline and never gave it a read.
I decided to look it up today, and it’s actually a pretty sad story.
[Jon Jones, illegitimate son of Tom Jones]: “My feelings for him are conflicted - he is my biological father but he has never been a dad. I am not sure whether we could ever have a relationship now.”

Perhaps it isn’t all a coincidence. The TF2 writers seem to have deliberately used Tom Jones as a “father figure” for Scout at the end of his life because Tom Jones shares a lot of similarities with Spy: sleeping around with a lot of women, abandoning their love child, and only ever providing financial support (Scout’s Mom couldn’t possibly have raised 8 children without working to death, so I assume that Spy would send money to her for support).
